7/6 for BC in the two main polls, just looking ahead, either USC or Cal has to lose and either Ohio St. or Wisconsin has to lose so as long as BC keeps winning they could be top 3 come November 11th. LSU also plays Florida and Kentucky(who plays Florida 2 weeks after LSU does) in consecutive weeks so someone will be dropping there. Comp polls: Anderson - nothing yet Billingsley - 8th Colley - 8th Massey - 6th as last week Sagarin - 11th Wolf - nothing yet
BC is 4th in today's poll. 1. LSU - As it should be. 2. Ohio St. - Can a weaker OSU win out? 3. Cal - game vs. USC will determine fate. 4. BC - Can they win out? 5. South Florida - Why are they so high on the comps?
BC will have tough games in Blacksburg and Death Valley. USF is probably so high on the computers due to their wins over Auburn and West Virginia.
I think is BS a UF team that lost to UNRANKED auburn AT HOME, and then lost to LSU is still in the top 15, thats such shit.Urban cryer is such a weiney wh0re.
Boston College struggled with Notre Dame and have played nobody. Ohio State' big win was at Washington? South Florida...Yeah...Won AT Auburn who was ranked at the time, and are now ranked again, and beat the #5 team in the nation in West Virginia, who are currently 8th. USF should be #1 due to OSU and BC playing nobody.
Oh come on man.... OSU played Youngstown State and Kent State, the school that gave us Drew Carey is somebody.....
Yeah. That isn't close to beating Auburn AT Auburn and beating West Virginia... And USF, rightfully so, is ahead of Boston College. I'm just shocked that they're 2nd in the Nation, much less the best team in the state.
honestly i believe the top 3 should be 1. USF 2.tossup here but my bias clearly is BC 3. OSU my reasoning for 2/3 is: i'm a homer, and although the two have played a relatively weak schedule so far i feel that BC has played the less weaker of the two. OSU's big win was wash. BC's key wins were #15 GT and to a lesser extent defending ACC champs Wake (and the way WF is playing right now that win could be going from a decent win to a quality win). To those that say BC has struggled in some of those wins i respond that basically as much as i hate to admit it that is BC's style, they use an efficient gameplan to beat whomever they have in front of them even if it looks like they are down to the level of that team. IMO these wins that they "struggled" they still controlled the game and there was very little doubt that they were in trouble. They do what they need to for the W and in a year like this i feel that is enough to justify the ranking. Any team any week can lose to an App. st, colorado, or stanford and BC, USF, and OSU have taken care of business and come out unscathed unlike many other of these teams. Either way this next week (Thursday 10/18-Thursday 10/25) will test these teams and either justify the rankings or prove the haters right. It should be exciting
I think if South Florida and BC can get past their Thursday games (Rutgers for USF, VT for Boston College), they both have a great shot at going undefeated. Honestly, from what I saw when I went to the game where Ohio St played Washington, It didn't look like they were that good of a team. I guarantee they will lose before the year is out. What could be interesting is if USF, BC and LSU all win out, there could be a chance LSU would jump one or both of them somehow.
I dunno, that would be a very interesting situation. LSU doesn't play that great of a schedule after next week at Auburn, but i wouldn't say that it is any worse than BC or USF's after their games next week. I doubt that all 3 will win out though so it is most likely a moot point. Another scenerio is that if BC wins vs. a top 10 VT team at Lane on thursday night (a situation in the past where VT is nearly unbeatable) does BC leapfrog USF? or maybe even OSU? alot will play out in the coming weeks
Well BC is already ahead of USF in the human polls it's just the comp polls that love USF. I doubt they will jump Ohio St. in the human polls but the computers might give BC some love.
Well it looks like the computers' favorite team has lost so it looks like for now that BC should be the new #2 in the BCS poll as BC doesn't play until Thursday vs VT.
If BC loses, that would make 4 consecutive weeks where #2 lost hmy: USC (#2 in some polls) vs. Stanford Cal vs. Oregon State South Florida vs. Rutgers
Say goodbye to South Carolina's title chances if they had any. Early prediction for Sunday's BCS top 5 1. Ohio St. 2. Boston College 3. LSU 4. Oklahoma 5. Arizona St.
Les Miles has balls...What a finish in that game, and what a 2nd half adjustment. I don't care that they have 1 loss...They are the BEST team in the Nation.
