Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks Dallas leads the all-time series, 6-4. 1976- Cowboys, 28-13 (at Seattle) (defending NFC Champs vs expansion team playing its 4th ever game, yet the score was 14-13 at halftime) 1980- Cowboys, 51-7 (at Dallas) (Thanksgiving Day Spanking) 1983- Cowboys, 35-10 (at Seattle) 1986- Seahawks, 31-14 (at Dallas) 1992- Cowboys, 27-0 (at Dallas) (a disgusting game; Seattle had 62 yards of offense) 1998- Cowboys, 30-22 (at Dallas) 2001- Seahawks, 29-3 (at Seattle) 2002- Seahawks, 17-14 (at Dallas) 2004- Cowboys, 43-39 (at Seattle) (arguably the wildest game of the new century) 2005- Seahawks, 13-10 (at Seattle) (excellent game; Babineaux INT with 5 seconds remaining set up game-winning 50-yard field goal by Brown) ___ Bill Parcells vs Mike Holmgren Parcells leads series, 3-2. Holmgren teams are in bold. 1994- New England 17, Green Bay 16 (at New England) 1996- Green Bay 35, New England 21 (at New Orleans) 1999- N.Y. Jets 19, Seattle 9 (at New York) 2004- Dallas 43, Seattle 39 (at Seattle) 2005- Seattle 13, Dallas 10 (at Seattle)
This is a difficult game to call. I took Seattle to win but I don't have great confidence in them. If it wasn't for Josh Brown's four game-winning last minute field goals, the Seahawks would be a 5-11 team. The loss of Steve Hutchinson was huge. They have had problems on the offensive and defensive lines all season. If Seattle wins, they'll get blown out in New Orleans or Chicago. Dallas would present more of a problem for the Saints or Bears.
I have to go with Dallas in this one. Sure, they've had their problems in the past few weeks, but so has Seattle. Seattle isn't as good as the record shows in my opinion. They lost a bunch of players, and Shaun Alexander isn't what he was last season. It's going to be a good, close game, but I can see Dallas pulling this one out in the end.
Of course. But it does show you they may be a little worse than the record would indicate. They certainly are not a strong playoff team.
Interesting fact, Seattle is the first Super Bowl loser to make the playoffs the following year since Tennessee Titans in 2000.
The first of several NFC games where neither team looks like a winner. I'll go with Dallas just because I just can't get excited about anything connected with Seattle. I also think it's quite possible that TO has his best game of the season, to try to erase his embarrassment for being so lousy all year.
I like a playoff game with two great head coaches. You can see the difference in the play-calling already compared to the slopfest we witnessed earlier today.
Romo's very first playoff game, I hope for Dallas' sake that he chooses to manage this game instead of roll out and make some big plays. I think that the front lines for the Cowboys are better than that of the Seahawks, but hey, I also thought Larry Johnson was bound to break the rushing record today or something.
