I don't know. The Jets have been doing pretty good against the run so far (at least when it counted in Buffalo). And Bart Scott has been involved and disruptive. I don't see the issue right now.
Thats arguable. We dont have a single NFL starting caliber RB on this team that wants to run the ball 35+ times a game. I think OLB is a huge weakness that needs to be addressed next year withing the 1st 2 rounds of the draft.
Not true at all. Even though they missed a bunch of tackles, the defense is what kept us in the game against Pitt. 13-10 at the half and they were on the field nonstop because the offense couldn't move the ball. And they dominated the Bills when it mattered. Sure, the eased up and played soft after they got the huge lead cause they knew we had it in the bag. And they've been good the past 3 years, only reason they weren't quite as good last year is because the offense sucked and consistently put them in bad spots. And they still were like top 5
this simply isnt factual: 1) the jets scored on 2 of their 3 first half possesions 2) time of possesion was nearly dead even at the half 3) jets gave the D a 10-6 lead they couldnt keep going into halftime. going into the second half, the jets defense, with all of halftime plus a 4 minute drive from the offense coudlnt keep pitt from scoring a TD on their first poession making it a 20-10 game. and then, to start the 4th quarter, with time of possesion being almost identical(23 min to 21 min) the jets defense allowed pit to go on a 13 play 10 minute TD drive to make it 27-10. the jets offense didnt have the back to back 3 and outs until AFTER that possesion.
For once I agree with u Jonny (besides the Rangers), they're old and slow, can't tackle and certainly can't pass cover...
McIntyre is really leaving an impression on me. He played well in both games, I thought he played exceptionally well in game 2 Against the steelers. As much as I was a fan of Barr Scott 2 years ago. Last year he fell off hard, lost a lot of respect for him, even tho he's doing Ok this season, he's not making the strides he should be, he's not gaining my respect back, cut his time and give McIntyre a chance, time for the future to start getting some extra playing time.
Bart Scott and David Harris are still starting LB's in this league, but they're both two down players. Harris was never great, he was good, but now seems to be mediocre and Scott is obviously on his last legs but has been the best player on the field at the position for two weeks. Demario Davis' number will be called soon enough. With Harris' huge salary and the Jets $18 million OVER number for next year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Harris, Pace and possibly Scott get the boot this offseason. We'll see.
I think Bart has been playing pretty good so far. He's made some impact plays behind the LOS. He is a liability in coverage though
Which has always been the case with him. We simply don't have any LB's who can cover a TE, and our safeties can't either. That was the problem last year and it's the problem this year.
RB is worse than LB, but not by much. Greene's game: 3 yds fall down, 3 yds fall down, 2yds fall down and get back up gingerly and walk to sideline.
