He did, but he's still not 100% after his knee scope. 4.51 is nothing to scoff at, but I think he feels he can do better. I think his top end speed is closer to 4.45 when completely healthy. He says he's 100% but I'm not sure he is quite yet.
No to Upshaw frommy viewpoint. I'm big on Hightower or De Castro, but what the hell do I know. I don't have a good feeling about Upshaw's ceiling as an OLB
Inability to train for the event in preparation is a huge factor as well. Little technique things get some guys 4.3s and others 4.5s. As long as he looked fast in the drills, no one should care. Coming out and running even a 4.5 without (I'm guessing) doing much extensive sprinting training like this other guys do is impressive after the knee scope.
Exactly! The kid is coming off a scope. He looked great in the drills and his timed speed was fine. By all the reports I read he did noting but confirm his status as a elite running back.
Neither the Bucs nor the Browns can really afford to pass on Richardson and see him be incredibly successful. I know Schiano is going to want to run the ball like crazy and I know the Browns don't want that offensive line to go to waste. Also, Colt McCoy needs serious help. Aside from that, I can't scratch my concern with Upshaw's lousy numbers. I still think he's a very good fotoball player, but the worse his measurables get, the more blind faith you have to put in him being "football fast" and agile. I don't know if I can stomach that sort of thing in the first round. -X-
The Bucs really need Richardson. They have a potential franchise QB in trouble and they need playmakers around him. The Browns would be making a huge mistake if they took Richardson over Blackmon. They don't have their QB in house yet and it would be nice to have the playmaking WR with a year or two under his belt when the rookie franchise guy arrives.
I would normally agree completely, but the Browns have two first round picks, and they ranked 28th in rushing yards per game last season and 31st in yards per attempt. Besides that, they have a second first round pick, and they're in a pretty good position to land Kendall Wright. -X-
That's all explosion from the hips/legs. Physically, this kid is the perfect RB. You could not mold a creature better suited to play RB than he is.
