I am not sure now. We already have a 33 year old injury prone starting LT on the roster as of a few hours ago. That changes the equation. David was probably in play in case we couldn't get Smith. If he is healthy, he is a top LT and would want to have a starting possibility. If he is not, he useless. Either way at this point it does not look like the Jets are a right fit. No longer a lock IMO.

The one thing id argue is that it’s us or bust for him. Nobody else seems to want him and he wants to oalu

IDK, I basically been viewing him as this year's Cobb signing. With him more of less coming in regardless to get that one last paycheck and round of football life with the boys.

I wasn't guessing on there being much outside competing starter interest.

What I mean is not that a team will sign him to be a starter - they won't. But IF he is healthy, he would have a chance to beat out their projected starter, since when healthy he is very good. He is not beating out Smith even if healthy, so there no chance there at all.

This isn't even remotely close to a lock. Rather draft a young OT to eventually take the reigns.

Even with the Smith signing, I’d still expect a deal to get to get done with Bakt. Aaron wants him and he want to be here.

    We go WR at 10.

    Smith, Simpson, Tipp, ATV, Moses
Bakt and Warren/Mitchell in the swing

    Rome, Boyd, Wilson, Ruckert

    Hall and Aaron

    not bad

Bakh is washed up it would be another Amos/Turner/Lazard/Cobb/Hackett signing.

Time to stop letting Rodgers influence these bad decisions.
Sign someone like Fant as a swing tackle and for jumbo sets.

The draft is about the future, and we have none at OT, so I expect OT to still be in play in round 1.
If Rome or a QB we like is there, we are also prepared to go in that direction.
Still need a Fant type signing to be prepared.

Fant signed with the Seahawks, but I do like Josh Jones. just have a feeling it will be Bakt

It would be great to draft a LT to grow behind Smith, but I have a feeling we get Aaron a young target to pair with G and maybe bring in Boyd or KJ Osborn

    window is now

Bakhtiari may still end up here, but I don't think anything happens until after the draft. Teams are going to be cautious and he would have to pass a physical, so it's probably in his best interest to wait also.

Why not get him in here? Let’s bring the band back together. He can’t be any worse than Moses or Tyron Smith have been.

Bubba Franks, I remember wanting him in the 2000 draft and then we got Becht. It took a long time for me to appreciate Becht's blocking because I wanted a receiving TE in that draft.

I seriously was thinking this today…He is likely healthy by now. If you can get him here cheap it might be worth a try.

I thought they would have signed him before the season, but maybe he is waiting for a contender to have an opening.

Also I think every one of these guys bites their tongue about the taxes.
