Okay...? Was the copy machine doing the Office Space thing today at work? My bad. I thought I remembered something about him getting some $, but then I've also read on here that he is making that 600K number. If he's making the same as Franks then he should be, and probably will be in camp.
He's making 600k this season because we paid him a lot of his 2008 salary last year in advance, as terms of his extension, he made a couple of million in 2007. It's his lawyers *cough* agents that are saying he's only making 600k.
Not your fault dude...it's just that I see that bullshit 600k number repeated on a daily basis on this board. It's a complete lie, and I'm just fed up with it...didn't mean to go crazy on you.
I'm hoping/pretty sure that the FO knows how important Baker is. What Baker needs to know is that you can't sign a contract and try to get out of it a few months later. Kind of a dick move on his part. He'll be in TC though.
Seems like every athlete who have signed contracts that are considered "obsolete" (based on the ever-increasing salaries being doled out in professional sports), are out to re-negotiate what they were more than happy to sign just a few years ago. I just can't think of any other sector in our soceity that allows such behavior. These guys are such "Marie Antoinettes" in that not only do they want their cakes but they want to eat it too. We only have the teams to blame for this because they, more than not, buckle under the incessant whining that these 'professional' athletes do so well. That's why we, the fans, need to applaud what the Bengals F.O. are doing with Chad "Bojangles" Johnson.
Does anyone here see much in the way of equivalence between Baker's situation and that of Kendall's last year? Not that I do. Jes askin...
