I haven't watched every snap, but if what you're saying is correct that he seems 'slow' to step upfield and 'guide' the rusher past the QB, then it may be more that he's hedging to the inside to prevent the spin move and inside rush that's ALWAYS a killer sack.

At least when the rusher is pushed upfield the QB can step up in the pocket. But with an initial upfield rush followed by a spin move and successful inside rush the QB is almost always dead meat.

Gee do you think he will get better with added experience? It has been rumored that sometimes players actually improve as they gain experience and maturity. IMO he has played three great speed rushers and has given up how many sacks? I can't hear you!

i'm not worried about austin howard, im actually pleased with how he's playing.

as weird as this sounds, im more worried about the lines run blocking compared to their pass protection

I hope Austin Howard isn't reading this shit because he is doing a good job. Hunter is gone, be glad.

He's doing a good job. Definitely an upgrade. All linemen get beat sometimes.
He's only gonna get better. Gotta remember.....He's seeing these rushers for the first time. He has good feet & strength, which is very important. He's got great size & when he gains more confidence, he's gonna start mauling guys....lol !!!

Slauson is the weak link now. Jets need to upgrade that LG position & keep Slauson as G/C sub back-up off bench...since they've spent so much time developing him. Jets should not have let Robert Turner get away ???

You guys make me laugh. He has gone up against Mario Williams, and Cameron Wake in 2 of 3 weeks. The only time he has let the speed rush beat him is when we run playaction. He runs the speed rusher deeper, which he is suppose to do, and allow Sanchez to step up.

It seems like he struggling a little at times, but he's night/day better than hunter. He's getting better and each week he will improve. Long term I'm excited about how well he's played. He's a guy off a practice aquad. More reps he gets faster he will improve. Hunter would have surrondered 9 sacks already this season and been the cause of 5 others. What's he given up 1? I'm happy with howard.

it dosent get any eaiser for him this week with the Smiths and Brooks. He will hold his own I hope. Aldon Smith could give him trouble as he is similar to M.Williams with a little more explosion and length...a little
