this is correct, none of this years rookies can be resigned to a new deal till AFTER the 2015 season.

Wilkerson has hit that mark in time, Which means its time to PAY DA MAN. PAY DA MAN GUD MONEY. whatever the top DE's get, Wilk's earned it. top priority but can take a bit longer than some other resigning's.

Howard has been an effective RT, I wouldn't brake the bank with him but giving him a 4 year deal or more for about 20 mill more should suffice.

colon is a great teammate, but I could go ether way with bringing him back.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt as I believe this may have been a typo on your part.
    Perhaps you meant S.Hill & S.Holmes.
Maybe you dont have the standard "QWERTY" keyboard but a "TWERKY".
    Were you "MISQUOTED"?

If we don't sign either, we would lose a modicum of continuity on the OL.
    I agree w. you regarding not to overspend, but who could we sign as viable replacements that would;

A)-Provide an adequate (or greater) level of OL skills while becoming part of an effective unit w. Brick, Faneca & a slowly progressing but improving Winters.

    ....and

    B)-Not "break the bank" capwise.

Who's available that fits the above?

Kindly, tell me what are your suggestions/alternatives.

Rex and Izzy were gushing about them on yesterdays presser. VERY impressed with their progress.

I reckon this will be Bricks last season at LOT. I know the line play as a unit and singling out one player is difficult, but there were quite a few plays where he just got completely blown out.
That said, he did improve as the season went on. RT in 2015?

i agree with the op but i wouldn't give colon that much money. i think he'll be available for less. there are lots of good guards out there...or, at least, way more than there are tackles.

Brick may not necessarily move to RT if replaced.

He may be better suited to LG while Winters may do better at RG where his strength will matter more than his footwork.

As for Howard I would look to bring him back if the price is right. If he will play for $4 mil or less I would lock him up for 3-4 years. Otherwise, free agency and the draft could help us to upgrade the position.

Colon I would pay $1 mil tops. If he signs that cheap I bring him back for 1-2 years instead of leaving a hole. That way we can upgrade the position if the opportunity presents itself and can still afford to keep Colon for depth (or until rookie earns the job).

So jay, from your posts here and in the draft forum, your offseason plan includes letting go two online player, one of whom played very well this year, and trading multiple picks for a wide receiver.

Tanny is gone, it's time to move on already.

    Multiple picks?

you mean trading ONE of our likely TEN picks to move up in the first and grab an elite playmaking WR?

If what i suggested happens we would still have 8-9 draft picks including at least 1 in every round. thats nothing like tanny throwing away draft picks, not obtaining any draft picks and ending up drafting 4 players.

Colon is injured and was a penalty machine. only reason id keep him is on a vet min deal because i think he bring leadership. Howard was an awful player. i dont want him back.

Those guys are replaceable. Its not like we'd be losing walter jones or steve hutchinson

Were you able to watch any Jets games this year? WTF are you talking about?

You do realize it usually always takes more than one "extra" draft pick to move up, right? Even then it's usually a couple of high picks in this years or next years draft to get something like that done. It's not easy to trade up for the right price and it's even harder to trade back for the right price.

You should educate yourself on several things. Honestly.

You saying Howard was awful is laughable. He may not be elite but your sure as fuck not going to be able to have elite OL play at every position. Howard has been a very good player for us the past two years, just because you don't here everyone praising him doesn't mean he's awful.

Watch some games, look at the OL rankings on him. He is one of the top RT in the league right now. Lol

Obviously someone did not see Austin Howard's performance against Cam Wake last week. What a buffoon.

Austin Howard is going to be a long-term starter with the Jets.

Who's to say they weren't being honest though?

We won't know for sure until next season, none of us know if that is a factual statement yet, nor do any of us know if it's a false statement yet.

How about you find you some patience, have a coke and a smile, and cheer the fuck up.

Your so depressing bro. It's all going to work out.

    :)

I don't see Brick moving to OG at all. He's not strong enough and not a good enough run blocker. IMO, once replaced, he'll either move to the bench or off the team.

Its not my opinion on how good or bad they are, I'm merely stating what I heard in the presser in their review of the rookies and how they had progressed.
