I don't see that happening at all ... in fact I bet it is completely the opposite. Sanchez needs to play perfect if he wants the job.

Powell's really been playing good lately. Since the beginning of camp we've been hearing on how he's making plays both in the run and pass game.

I'm not sure what to take from a RB doing good in mostly non-tackling practices?

Good on Mark for having a solid practice. For prides sake alone, he can't go down without a fight, despite the fact that everyone has been praising Geno these past couple of days.

IMO I don't know what is better at this point. I want the Jets to succeed and I want Geno to be a main contributor to that success, but I also don't want to rush him into this before he's ready. In all honesty it would be interesting to let Sanchez play out the season, while Geno develops.

Mark finally had a good outing and Geno finally had a bad outing, in 7 on 7's but they counted for Sanchez they count for Geno. That said, and I've said this all along, Geno's looked better this camp than Sanchez has, but the real test hasn't come yet. That comes later this week against the Lions in a non "friendly" scrimmage.

I do expect Geno to struggle a little this week, and as long as Sanchez Doesn't crap his bed (and there's a good chance he will) he should look better this week against the Lions. But it won't be a clearly better. It's still 50/50 who will start on opening day, if it's close it'll be Geno, That will come from Idzik and Rex will go that way if he want's to be the Jets coach in 2014.

Personally, I don't think that Rex has the final say over who the starting quarterback will be. Rex said something like, that the decision of who starts is a "team" or "Jets" decision, not just his decision alone. I think Idzik and the OC will be the main ones deciding who gets to start at QB, with Rex also getting the chance to give his opinion.

If one was clearly better than the other, I think they would go with him in the name of wanting to win now. I don't agree that Smith has to drastically outperform Sanchez in order to win the starting job. I think the tie goes to Smith so that he can improve more through game experience, show you what you have so that you know whether you need to draft another QB next year in that QB-rich draft, and sell more season tickets since there is more hope in a new QB.

Genome throwing picks...is ok. MS throwing picks...isn't.
The scoreline is still 0 - 0 and for me, MS wins the job.

It's not OK, but Geno is new so we can cut him some slack.. Rather him get that interception shit out now in preseason, learn from his mistakes, and rock it during the regular season.. When Sanchez throws a pick in his backyard, trainingcamp, scrimmage or Madden, its the same old same old..

He did good on the scrimmage, he had good runs today, and every other day or so there's a tweet about him taking a pass for a good gain.

It would actually be pretty hard for a RB to look like a star in two hand touch. If he is doing well in "two hand touch" that tells me that he apparently became speedy, elusive back out of the blue. I would think that it's hard for a back with average speed to look like a star in two hand touch football, especially when our DLine is as good as everyone is saying it is.

  20. Bilal was really good during the scrimmage which was definitely full contact. He blocked well, caught the ball, & was elusive in open space. He also took some real shots & kept on ticking w/ proper pad level as well as quickness.

He may not be flashy but he's tough, versatile & effective. Due to this he may end up being the starter on 1st/2nd down w/ Ivory/Goodson(if he ever returns) being more of the big play change of pace types
