I want to see Darnold air it out. That's about it. I'm only focused on getting our QB problem solved once and forall. The rest will come along with it.
I'd like to see a full rebellion with all the Jets players going to Chris Johnson and the media and telling them that they will not play for Bowles, Rodgers and Bates next season. It would create a circus and black eye for the franchise, but that may be what it takes for the Johnsons to fire Mac and Bowels or at least Bowles and his CS. Who knows, if they get embarrassed enough and if the players insult them too, maybe they'll sell the team.
And McCagnan and the lucky sperm brothers actually think that the players liking bowles is a reason to keep him. IT'S NOT!! The packer players hated lombardi because he was so strict, but the super bowl trophy is named after him. Under Lombardi, Parcells, and other great coaches, the SECOND time in the game Spencer Long wrongly snapped the ball, Long would be picking splinters out of his butt the rest of the game. Todd Toilet watching SIX bad snaps throw off Darnold's attention, and does squat. Bowles later said he did not bench Long for the bad snaps but because long reinjured his finger. I'll bet Spencer Long likes Todd Bowles too.
Honestly? I want to see 2-5 and a complete change in the leadership of this football team. If 3 consecutive 5-11's doesn't force a change, nothing will.
Why risk the 2-5? I'd rather go 0-7, wind up with a 3-13 record, and then there's no way that Bowles can claim that there has been progress. As a bonus, it would guarantee us a higher draft position, and quite possibly mean that we could trade down, add an additional pick or picks and still get a topflight LT or edge rusher.
The Jets don't have scenarios like that happen NC. We'll win enough games to take us out of any contention for a topflight LT or ER. Then we'll be treated to all those "great win" posts and articles telling us how wonderful it was to play ourselves out of a top 5 or 10 pick. Besides, if a blue chip prospect doesn't fall into Macc's lap, chances are he'll miss out on the pick anyway and draft a fair to middlin prospect who will make special teams.
Sad, but true. Maybe Darnold falling into our laps will signal a change in our luck. Then again, it's probably our only good luck for the next 100 years. I hope that Mac isn't doing the drafting in 2019 and that Bowles & Co. won't be doing the coaching.
Now THAT’S what I’m talking about. Let the next game be the first preseason game of 2019. And let’s start specalating on who our new coach will be.
