This thread is pretty silly. Football is the ultimate team sport. This is not the NBA. NFL teams don't need a "face of the franchise." Who cares as long as they win games?
I don't get why people think Mo is going to be this sack machine. He's a DT/ 34DE, it would be a miraculous if ever reaches 10 sacks in a season. Its not his job. Having said that, he seems to have improved from season 1 to 2. But i think Coples has more sack potential.
If Stephen Hill learns to catch he could easily become our most recognizable player. He has the athleticism to make the circus catches that get you on ESPN's top plays.
If Revis gets traded, I really don't think any player will be the face of the Jets. I think all those players listed on the poll will be known around the country but none are nearly as dominant or recognizable at their position as Revis is at his. This isn't to say that Wilk, Coples and others aren't going to be very good to great players because I firmly believe they will both be. However I don't think the new face of the Jets is currently on this roster as of today.
The Face of the Franchise Since it seems the idea of trading Revis starts with Football Genius Woody Johnson, I think Woody will appoint himself to become the Face. Get used to it.
unless the new gm changes the scouting/personnel dept., and has some experience in personnel selection, we could hire caesar romaro to sit in fireman ed's seat , dressed up as the joker.hmy::beer:
exactly why we need a face of the franchise. too bad caesar romaro and emmitt kelly are unavailable.....
