This true, and especially since we do have to play both teams still so either way the Jets control their destiny with both of those teams. If they beat both the Patriots and Steelers, they're in good shape. However, a Patriots loss would have helped a lot. You want to be #1, not #5.
It does suck that both losses came at home. 5-0 on the road, 2-2 at home, If the Jets were playing those Detroit and Cleveland games at home, I'm sure some asshole fans would've booed and lowered moral. (Just like Wayne Hunter said) I hope you show a ton of support to our team returning home 7-2 and back atop the AFC east.
I fucking hate the Patriots. We are 7-2, yet we have no breathing room. First team to blink is a fucking wildcard. There might be a fucking 13-3 wildcard in the AFC East. We better keep winning these games. Looks like the Pats game is a must win to get this division.
Well the Jets really haven't played that well on the road either, we have barely won the last couple road wins.
In the playoffs you do. You don't want to play the Pats in the fog or Manning in his living room, get them into our place in January. I was shocked last week when I saw we were 11-4 on the road with Rex, now 12-4. That's amazing.
The Jets have to keep winning with the way New England is playing. There is a great chance one of them could go (12-4) and be a #5 seed.
Jesus, this thread is ridiculous. There is a shit ton more football to play. Way to get ahead of yourself.
Listen, this is America competition makes you better. You don't want the team to let up and you want them to bring their A game every single week. Rex is exactly the type of coach that can push them that hard without burning them out. Just listen to Herm on ESPN the other day saying the Jets just need to play .500 and that will be good enough for a playoff spot. Well fuck you Herm, there's a new coach in town
What is the point of these threads? Remember our 8-3 start in the 2008 season? Make a thread when its week 17. Pats have a shot at home for the AFC championship game too ... so do the Ravens ... so do the Steelers ...
I guess people feel that this year will be different than the other years. Anyway, win 3 or 4 games before mid December and I'll feel more comfortable about the playoffs. For now, we must press on.
