I think it's going to take a little bit for the game to slow down for him. It sounds like he's taking too long to make decisions right now, which is to be expected. Once the pads go on and they start hitting, it's going to show up a lot more if he's indecisive.

That's nothing to be down on the kid about so early though, Clemens has a 3 year head start.

Oh I know, I'm not saying Clemens shouldn't start... and I'm aware that Sanchez is holding on to the ball a little too long, still struggling with timing and reads. I'm just saying, I don't think this is as much of a competition as its made out to be. I think they expect to have mark ready by September to lead this team.

You could be right, I'd hate to see them put him out there before he's ready though. It would hurt the team and put him in danger of taking hits he shouldn't be.

Other then at Qb I don't see much competition for starters throughout the rest of the team. Maybe at WR but I'm thinking Stuckey has the starting position all but locked up at this point.

    TE: Keller
    LT: Ferguson

Having Harris not starting would be ridiculous. For years we have all said that BT is a liability out there and still will be. Eric Smith and BT have gotten compliments by Rex Ryan comparing them to two superior players in Ed Reed and Adalius Thomas. This is obviously Rex's way of instilling confidence in them. However, I believe Gholston will start over BT, as BT will come off of the bench in certain packages. David Harris, will be our best linebacker in this defense. I don't know where people get off saying he is slow because when he is in the game, our defense is much much better. Can't wait to see him healthy this year.

It doesn't matter how "physical" a player is...if he doesn't know which hole the running back is coming through or if the play is a run or pass, he will fail.

Being in position is all about football smarts.

I'm not saying that Vernon Gholston is an idiot or anything, but saying he's going to be a better player because he doesn't have to think is flat out wrong.

I'm not trying to turn him into a super star here... I'm just pointing out that Mangini's schemes made players over-think a lot... Where Rex tries to play more to players' strengths.

ON starters I can understand people picking Lito to start opposite Revis, but imo there's a real question how much time he shares there.

That's basically the list I was going to post... I was going to write Brad Smith into the #2 spot. That of course changes if Plax is signed by the Jets.

I guess that means our defensive players strength isn't their brains. Lets hope our defensive players strength isn't their gluteus maximus.
