People saying Rex can't win is a joke to me,we still have a top o line a defense that besides the lack of saftey help should be a top 7 defense , The addition of Ivory at rb is quietly gonna be a great addition,we have a good nucleus on defense and Richardson and Millner are only gonna help, Im putting alot of stock in Marty Mornyweig to set the tone on offense but I wouldn't be surprised to see us go 9-7 10-6

^ Top O-line? We have a bunch of no names combined with Brick and Mangold.

    The O-line needs work.

I wouldn't call it a top O-line, but it's pretty hard to have all-stars all the way across.

I think Colon probably has a couple of years left in the tank, Howard is improving quickly, and there's competition at the other guard spot.

It's a much better situation than the chopped liver we had a couple of years ago.

The article wasn't about literal wins. It was about how Rex is portrayed by the media. It's the same thing every year.
    ___________________________________________________________
Rex is loud, confident and not afraid to tell it like it is - media scrutinizes him for being over confident and putting higher pressure on the team.

Rex tones it down - media scrutinizes him for not giving direct answers, and questions his leadership to install confidence on the team.

    __________________________________________________________

Rex calls plays on defense: The media scrutinizes the purpose of having a DC when Rex is essentially the DC and criticizes his offensive knowledge.

Rex decides to get more involved on offense: The media scrutinizes him saying that he's only a defensive guy, so it won't help the team.

Rex decides to go back to calling shots on D: The media once again criticizes him because he should hire a DC to do that job and won't be able to be head coach.
    ____________________________________________________________________

All of last year and into this year every article about Rex has pulled a quote mine out of context that has nothing to do with the situation. The whole Rex says that Milliner will never be Revis comment is the perfect example. If you listen to the interview Rex clearly said that he wasn't going to compare a rookie to a future hall of famer and that Dee Milliner will be the first Dee Milliner, not another Revis. Of course the headline reads, "Rex says Milliner will never be Revis!". NY media is bad enough, but these beat writers who think they know the ins and outs of football crack me up. Nobody cares about silly drama, they want to learn about the team in relation to the game of football. It seems that no beat writers understand that concept and they all just want to sensationalize the drama and blow every Rex Ryan quote out of proportion. This article is right. Rex cannot win with the NY media. No matter how he handles business it will be criticized. There's a reason I ignore 99% of Jets articles these days. They simply are not informative. It's also motivating me to become a writer.

Stats wise we had the num 3 ranked o line in the league last season according to profootballfocus.com so why you think the o line needs work is a mystery to me ,we lost Moore that won't be a big deal ,people like to view perception over stats ,it wasn't the o lines fault that Greene ran into the pile for 2 or that Sanchez piledrove his head into peoples asses when he wasn't throwing ducks n interceptions into triple coverage.
