Tony Mandarich says hi. Rayn Leaf was never called "the best offensive line prospect ever" or even QB prospect lol . When you go from that hype to basicly off the team that drafted you in a few years thats something. Mandrich was drafted ahead of guys like Derrick Thomas, Prime Time, and Barry Sanders. Mind boggling.
Gholston is the biggest bust for a defensive player in the past 20 years. I did the HW...only 2 defensive players drafted in the top 10 over the past 20 years have no sacks. Bitch Gholston and some CB drafted by the Lions in 1997. And don't give me that "sacks don't define a career" bullshit, because this piece of garbage can't even get on the field to make a tackle.
You did your homework but you can't give the name of the Lions CB Gholston is a shame really. I was excited when we got him (I don't follow College FB, I just go by what you guys and the analysts say), and really bought into the hype. The only good thing to come out of it is you probably won't have to worry about the Jets drafting a workout warrior for the next 15 years plus.
He had a key interception in the 1997 season finale against the Jets. Thing was, he was actually out of bounds. Had instant replay been in place that year, that call would have been reversed. There would have been a good chance the Jets would have won that game and gone to the playoffs.
I just looked up this guys career and he had 32 sacks in 5 years, How exactly was he a bust, Am i missing something?
