So was Belichick. But he never got any flack when the Pats defense was atrocious. But gets credit for Brady being the best of all time. Sometimes those titles dont mean much. In terms of Philly's offense , I think McCoy , Maclin and DJax had a lot more to do with Foles looking like a good QB. Chip's a control freak who thought he could put anyone at QB , RB and WR and make it work. He still thinks he's at Oregon. Granted the defense has been the problem , but the offense hasnt looked like a top 10 offense. Or even top 20. If it was a New Orleans situation where the offense was dynamic but the defense just flat out blew I could give him the benefit of the doubt and maybe think that they could bring in a defensive mastermind to fix things. But the Eagles problems go way beyond that. They need a total overhaul. And I can understand how some Jets fans would take Chip over Rex. But I think if you asked the average NFL non-Jets or Eagles fans who they rather have , I think the majority would choose Rex. Chip belongs in college. At the very least Rex would be a solid D-coordinator.
No ODB , maybe AP for only a half if Minny is up big , and an overall pointless game in the standings. Networks cant pick em all right I guess.
Gruden must of got alot of help from brother at Xmas dinner to nail this one I always liked like Kurt cousins...looks like he finally came around
Not completely pointless - if Minnesota makes up a game on Seattle they get the 5th seed, and if they win and then beat Green Bay in week 17 they win the division. It's still a very big game for Minnesota.
Anyone else's blood boiling, watching an 8-7 Redskins team celebrate a division title, while our 9-5 Jets are on the outside looking in? Awful.
You're right, the four titles don't do Belichick justice ; they don't show us how good he is, how good he was, and how good he'll continue to be. I dislike the man as much as anyone, but the adjustments and gameplans he is able to put together on weekly basis is phenomenal and he's the greatest teacher in the NFL of the last decade. Would he have four rings without Brady? No, but neither would Brady. The man won 12 games in 2013 14, despite Brady's subpar season. But yes, I don't think records or superbowls is the only meaningful or bedt way to measure a coach's ability. The Bills went from 2nd in DVOA to 29th in 2015. Before this season, despite not being a Rex Ryan, I thought he was a mediocre to below average coach and a good defensive mind. But I was wrong...Rex Ryan really belongs on a TV set in Brisol.
Nope. I'm too busy enjoying the ESPN fags trying to backpeddle about every single thing they've said about the NFCE. This game doesn't affect us at all. And shouldn't.
I dont wanna turn this into the 1029827576th thread about how good would Belichick be without Brady and vice versa. Its already been proven by Belichick not being a Hall of Fame HC before Brady arrived and Brady never having the opp to play for a coach besides BB. Also , to me the guy who actually has the ball in his hands is a lot more responsible for a teams success or failures than the one holding the playbook. A coach can design a genius gameplan for a QB to succeed. But it still takes the QB to make it happen. But if Belichick was/is/will be so awesome , how come he couldnt deliver even a playoff game with Bledsoe? He was a good enough QB. As for Rex, he misjudged himself by going to Buffalo. You dont take an already good defense that was built by someone else and try to make it better by being your own. If you tell me Rex belongs on TV then thats fine. Chip Kelly is not an NFL head coach either. But also take a look a a third of the guys that are head coaches in the league right now. Sad state of affairs which will keep these guys in the league for years to come. And by titles I mean coaching titles like defensive coordinator. Not Super Bowl titles.
I can't get mad at a Texans team that defeated the Jets, but yeah that is bad too. I guess it is because I live down here and all these people keep posting and tweeting as if the Skins are good, when we all know they are a joke and far inferior to the Jets.
If we beat all the teams we should have beat and did everything we possibly could I'd be pissed. Nevertheless this team dropped super winnable games against the Eagles, TJ Yates led Texans, and the fucking bills. We didn't do enough to win the division at this point so we have to fight for the wildcard, no one to blame but yourself.
Ryan Mallet starting for the Ravens against Steelers. Not that they really had a shot anyway, but just forget about it now. He probably barely even knows the playbook.
Anyone else rooting for Panthers perfect season? If the Jets don't make it to the SB, I'd love to see the Panthers do it. No more Dolphins as the only team to do it and not being a rival (and scummy team) makes it easy to root for.
Charlie Whitehurst Brandon Weeden current QBs for the teams contending for the AFC South they're on their 5th chance or something, both have repeatedly been terrible as NFL QBs
