I know the Cards did not overly impress by beating the Niners. But they continue to look like one of the top teams this season. I don't know if they're better than Carolina. But they just might be.
I read it's an MCL sprain--likely 4 weeks but back for the playoffs. And no structural damage for Gronk--you dodged a huge bullet there. _
If Gronk is OK, I'm not terribly upset with this game. With everything going against them they almost won the game. As BB said, I'm proud of this team.
Hightower has really emerged as he core of that defense, especially after being viewed as something of a disappointment his first couple of years. The way he stepped up his game last year after Mayo went down is remarkable. And the play he made denying Beast Mode of the end zone on the play prior to Butler's interception in the SB is way overlooked IMO.
Definitely. Collins is just about ready to return and the O-Line is getting healthy and Amendola will be back soon also. If they can get Gronk, Hightower, and Edelman back for the playoffs, they're gonna be a tough out. I won't bullshit and say I'm not sorry they didn't go undefeated. But the truth is that as banged up as they are, it's better to have this out of the way now and to manage the roster and get guys healthy even if it costs them another loss... Would be nice to keep home field keep home field.
This morning I was watching the replay of last night's GAMEDAY HIGHLIGHTS and they showed Chris Harper's muff, and I thought Harper was white for a minute, because Cokehead Irvin goes on a diatribe about the Pats can't keep "going to the well", then he says "you found Welker, you found Edelman, you're working with Amendola, you can't keep going to the the well." Part of me believes that Irvin thinks Harper is white because of the diatribe, because he does no research, because Harper almost looks white until he takes his helmet off, and because Michael Irvin never stopped snorting cocaine up his gigantic nostrils.
What does he even mean "going to the well"? Welker was acquired via trade (2nd and 7th) and Amendola was given a relatively large contract. Edelman was a 7th round draft pick, but "going to the well" seems to imply that we are just plugging in any old WR. I get that he hates the system idea (vs. established superstars), but it's not like BB/TB are just doing this with scrubs out there.
Gruden on the air talking about how great Manziel is yeah, but that doesn't matter if you don't play when he isn't playing There's a giant well of white receivers somewhere.
re: Gronk he's out for the Eagles game doesn't mean much, because no reason to play him against Philly anyway
Gruden: "good no call" did he watch the replay? CB ran into Benjamin before the ball arrived McCown injured along with Browns CB/returner
lol that was a bit Bowles-ish going for it on fourth down at your own 30 with three timeouts and the two-minute warning where if you don't make it it ends the game pretty much instantly with Tucker.
the Browns are such morons Pettine doesn't know when to use timeouts, lets like 25 seconds run off clock then Davis slides down IN BOUNDS although it didn't matter as much because that idiot Pettine didn't use a timeout when he should've
