Many major publications are picking the Red Sox to finish ABOVE the Yankees this season, especially now that AFRAUD has been exposed and is injured. Molina may provide you guys with 10 hr this season, awesome!
This only happened because he chose the DR over Team USA. Totally kidding, but it's a shame this is happening. Hopefully he comes back and can contribute right away. Speedy recovery, Alex.
Something odd and getting odder here. " If Alex Rodriguez is having hip surgery next week, the Yankees aren't telling anyone yet. "We're not giving any information right now," Yankees spokesman Jason Zillo told MLB.com Thursday." http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9295640/Yanks-mum-on-reports-A-Rod-will-have-hip-surgery This one now says 6-8 weeks and says he is seeing the doctor today and this is quoting Boras. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/baseball/mlb/03/05/arod.out/index.html
Yeah, so would I but there is more to this than we have heard so far. Probably just a second opinion but something.
You're grossly misrepresenting what actually happened. Wang was injured, and that was about it. Pettitte and Mussina both made 30+ starts and Rasner made 20. Beyond that, Chamberlain made 12 and if he didn't go on the DL probably would have been sent back to the pen anyway to keep his innings down. Hughes and Kennedy weren't "out", they sucked. Huge difference. Your statement "4/5 of the rotation was out for half the year" implies massive injury problems, which is completely false. The fact is there was one major injury and a whole lot of poor performance. And I don't know about having "no problem" beating the Red Sox. Their offense has potential issues but they still have the best overall pitching staff in the division and one of the best in baseball. They're going to be tough.
I don't know how the Yankees can even attempt to justify playing this season without an All-Star signed at every position.
What's next with this guy? HOLY COW...Well better that he misses the 1st part of the season, although this should of been addressed earlier, oh well... Glad my Fantasy Draft is in a couple weeks.
So, watching ESPN and the Yankees don't know any of this. They haven't heard from any doctors, they haven't hear from Arod and they haven't heard from any Arod brothers. They haven't even met to discuss what to do if it is true. They aren't saying it isn't but they don't seem to know anything about it as of 2 PM today.
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3954457 Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez will have surgery to remove a cyst from his right hip and will be out 10 weeks, Rodriguez's brother told ESPNdeportes.com on Thursday. Joe Dunand, Alex Rodriguez's older brother, told Enrique Rojas of ESPNdeportes.com during a phone interview that immediate surgery was recommended, and that rehabilitation would take about 10 weeks. A source close to the situation told ESPNdeportes.com that the surgery is scheduled for Monday in Colorado.
What stuff is that? Giarardi said he knew it bothered him last year. The trade part? They have two guys with a total of 7 games at third base in their careers in camp right now? Was there another part that confuses you?
the yankees dont want aroid to have surgery.they want him to rehab and see how it feels after. as reported on the michael kay show.
Rasner was never a part of the starting rotation. Not even in anybody's dreams. Kennedy was demoted. I will give you that. Hughes was injured (again) and never demoted in the Yankees eyes. He even came back late in the year. Mussina and Pettitte were the only pitchers to stay healthy all year and Pettitte self destructed in the second half anyway.
Good. That makes more sense by the fact they have been totally quiet all day. He played with it all year last year. Unless it has gotten worse and nobody was saying a couple of days ago that it had then he should be able to at least try and play with it this year too. I see they are also saying he has a torn labrum in his hipin addition to the cyst so that is new. It also says if he does need surgery he will be out 4 months. I can see why they want to wait. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3954457
