This is why I'm glad I got a PhD and not an MD - I could just ask him to please quiet down and keep on watching the game.
What's frustrating was that I opened this thread thinking someone actually had something frustrating to share. I was wrong.
Yeah but as you would need to check his insurance, check his credit was good, get him to sign a waiver agreeing not to sue you should anything go wrong, get his wife to also sign a waiver etc etc before treating him chances are the game would have finished before you needed to do anything so its all good I am very sorry to learn that in a few years time you will be in line to make incredible sums of money, when you buy your first Porsche 911 I am sure that this minor roadblock will not seem so important
If the Jets make the Super Bowl I fully expect I will be that asshole having that heart attack, so I'd like to thank whoever hopefully saves my life in advance.
The game is on Monday morning our time so I will be at work. It really fuckin sucks cause I have to address the UN General Assembly at 9am followed by lunch with the British Ambassador (who is a real twat) then launch another ocean liner in the afternoon. I'll just have to watch the replay on my 185 inch plasma later that evening.
What if I get the urge to take a nasty dump during the game on Sunday? Should I just go right there in front of the TV? Maybe I could dump into a wastepaper basket. Argh, so frustrating to think about this. I better dump early. Maybe get some Taco Bell for lunch.
If you want to feel better I have an exam the 7th of January (SB the 6th) and the local time when the SB starts is midnight (so it would actually already be the 7th)... SHITTTTT!!!!!
Better hope he's not a Jets fan. We have our priorities straight and would either let you die or slap the shit out of you post-resuscitation for interfering in our enjoyment of the game.
well since we're talking about dilemmas I've got one . I went to the Jets - Colts game in Indy now I'm being asked to go to Pittsburgh . heres the issue I live in south Florida I hate cold weather (one of the reasons I moved here) Lucas Oil Stadium is a dome and Hienz field is just Friggen cold . But I can probably deal with it . If we win I really really want to go to the SB and would hate to have spent the money on a playoff game to fall short of cash we know SB tickets will be pushing $2500 each.... Suggestions anyone?? Go or wait and see?
Probably a good idea to make sure yu're ready for the exam....this is med school we're talking about.
Don't drink, watch game, study for test more after game, take test, pass test, get drunk. This isn't rocket surgery.
in this crazy time, there is a thing called DVR. its a digital video recorder, they're crazy. i'm going to go ahead and say that in all probability, if oyu don't have one, you know someone who does. problem solved. study, pass, post tell us your grade (congrats med school, yay :| ), move on. really this isn't the dilemma you're making it out to be. I had a pool tourny on the day of hte colts game, results? no one here should care so i didn't say shit.... but i did DVR the game, and watched it later.
Hey if I agree with your thread, can you write me a couple scripts for xanax and oxycontin when you graduate?
Absolutely. I must say, I'm pretty surprised with the responses I've gotten from this one. It wasn't meant to be a "complaining" post, just more of a venting my frustration. I mean, yes being a doctor is an awesome responsibility and I can't wait to be in that position, but I am a second year right now and for any of you out there in my position (or anybody who was in my position at one time) you know that its very tough to see the light at the end of the tunnel. This Jets season is what has really kept my afloat with all the stress, and it was just bad luck to have this test the day after a championship game. Stop acting like I was friggin crying about it as if I feel like my life sucks. I thought I was talking to compatriots(haters) here. Listen, I know what I have to do. I am currently studying my ass off so that from 6:00-on on Sunday I can be focused on the game and be completely prepared for this test. Then, if they win, after the test I will be going out and getting really drunk celebrating. Assuming I pass. BTW, pretty ironic and funny for the guy that was saying the heart attack situation, this test on Monday is on the Pathophysiology of Heart Disease. Haha!
Not without writing a paper using t-tests to empirically verify the policy goals of the statutory scheme regarding MDs, emergencies, civilians, and the United States health care crisis. But after that, yes, you'd keep on watching the game, for sure.
