Regardless of your opinion on Denver, I don't know how this statement makes even a remote bit of sense. Either you think Seattle is so much better than everyone else that they shouldn't even bother playing a season next year, or you're smoking crack.
Sorry but I think Manning is better. Your Pats bought in to many new players at WR and it takes a QB and WR longer to build chemistry then D players which Denver bought in.
How is Tom Brady better than Peyton Manning right now? Tom Brady threw 25 TDs and 11 INTs. 4,300 yards and 60% completion rate. Peyton Manning threw 55 TDs and 10 INTs. 5,400 yards and a 68% completion rate. Peyton Manning is 30 TDs and 1,100 yards better than Tom Brady; it's not even close.
I don't care about #s but switch the teams and the #s would switch as well- the difference is switch the teams and NE is nowhere near a title game and Denver is in the SB w/ a chance to win. Maning has never had to win w/ what Brady had around him this year and Tom led his team to the title game.
I think in the end it came down something simple: the best defense in the league had outschemed the best offense in the league that came out lethargic overall. Manning's receiving targets were smothered, his line overwhelmed, I've never seen him do that many checkdowns all year. he's not a runner and they took away most of his passing options, and most importunely of all the Seahawks came out with passion while the Broncos offense looked blindsided on all fronts. The team was well assembled and still is, they just didn't come to play that game.
after being caught doing what everyone did they still have 2 SB apps and 5 title game apps. Peyton has 3 SB apps and 4 title game apps in his entire career
And Junc I gotta say for a guy that hates when stats are brought up, you seem to put a lot of non circumstantial weight behind a QB's supporting players. He had this guy! and that guy! well what of those guys were shut out of the game or otherwise weren't playing at their pique? what of other things went wrong? Watching that game it looked like no Qb without running ability (which would thus add another layer of attack for SEA to defend) was gonna stand a chance against that team, not even the best in the league (which Manning absolutely was/is) his choices were nil at times, I'd say the reason the Broncos lost was not because they were overrated, but because seattle's d was that damn good.
he had boatloads more talent than Brady. a year ago w/ a very good Seattle D(not quite as good as this year) in Seattle Brady led his O to 23 pts in a 1 pt loss. he had much more talent then than he did this year but still nowhere near as much as Manning had in the SB and in the NFC playoffs at home Sea opponents didn't have as much of a problem scoring on Seattle as Den D on a neutral field.
Just the opposite........ probably smart enough that this team needs ALOT of longterm help and a few short term splashes aren't do much aside from screw up the big picture
no we should do what we can so that we can sustain a level that has us competing to get there every year.
1) 2 of those guys are still here, not one 2) one of those guys turned into sheldon richardson and a 4th round pick 3) the reason all 5 arent still here is because we screwed up our cap by throwing out big money in free agency
no it isnt. not if you are responsible and dont over pay guys. the teams that are always right there are the teams that do it right
I taking nothing away from Brady he a great QB. But when you hear them talk about all time great qb's u always hear Manning but not always Brady.
