we spent in the offseason after 2007, we missed the playoffs in 2008. made title games in '09 and '10 and in the '10 title game only big name/money FA we had left starting was Calvin Pace

Exactly, that tells you the value of having FAs. That message isn't lost on the teams I mentioned before..oh and I forgot the Chiefs in that list.

You can't tell a lot of people on here that. Free agency is to make your team and as of right now we got worse not better.

I don't know, that is up to Idzik to figure out..what I know is we have a ton of money this year and even more, a lot more, next year and there should be and should have been people out there that would have helped. The other teams thought so.

we are a few days into FA, I guarantee you we will have a much better roster entering training camp this year than we did last year. have a little patience.

Nicks signed 1 year 4.5mil that a steal for him. That wouldn't had broke the bank. In this day in age you have to have superstars on your team to win a super bowl.

how do you know he would accept that from us? we have geno Smith, Indy has Andrew Luck. what good would it do us if he lights it up this year and leaves via FA next year?

We're building right now. At least give Idzik the benefit of the doubt and see how all this plays out.

I don't care about Miami..or Oakland..tell me what your favorite team, the Pats, did wrong..or the Ravens, or the Chiefs, or the Vikings or any of the other good teams who have signed multiple FAs in the last week.

I know we are a few days into FA. I hope your not saying we will have a better roster because of the draft?

My Pats look good. Brady has some new weapons, got greatest player in jets history still in his prime. I think my Pats will win it all

Brady had weapons and went 16-0 and didn't win it all. No way the Pats are better then Denver. The only position the Pats maybe better then Denver is Revis.

in some spots it is, or us building around a young QB I don't think it makes a ton of sense.

the QB is better than Denver's, the QB has more weapons than he has had in a while. The D looks better. I think Denver is bringing in too many new players, it's not a fantasy league.

I would answer the OP with a no, since the way Idzik seems to be handling FA this off season, it looks like he sees the Jets having no chance to contend this year.

Perhaps 2015 will be better, depending mostly on whether the Qb position is solidified by then.

John Elway needs to learn the game instead of using fantasy stats.

So our long term plan is simple. We wait until Brady, Manning and Ben retire, then we pounce.
