The Giants want Rex Ryan out of here... He's grabbing all the headlines, and his team gets all the press. The Giants are determined to see him gone no matter who they have to pay to get the job done. This is racketeering plain and simple.

So basically you're telling me the Raiders organization is receiving the same level of sports talk hatred in the San Francisco area than the Jets are here? Lets face it, the Raiders have made some crazy moves over the years too, but are they receiving such nonstop hatred? Are the 49ers being idolized while the Raiders are being bashed every 5 seconds in that market? If so I would like to see evidence of it. I would like to see how the Raiders headcoach is being ridiculed in this way. It just isn't happening, and now we know why, THE GIANTS!

Speaking of bashing, what's with Profootballtalk.com? Every time I read an article on that website the writers and people who comment on the articles are bashing the Jets. I can't read about the Jets on that website anymore.

You know Rex loves the "us vs. the world" song and dance. He's probably loving all the negative press.

I don't think it goes that deep but I think there are lots of Giants die hards working in the media that's where all the 'this is a Giants town always has been always will be' talk comes from and I think they see Rex as a threat.

I think the attention the Jets have gotten under Rex bothers them no doubt they say it doesn't but it does.

The giants did not have to share a stadium with the jets. it was their option.

Most reporters seem to be fans of the Giants, and that goes back a long way, well into the 60s.

Francessa is deranged when it comes to Rex Ryan, and it doesn't hurt that his comments get him the attention he craves

Giants' ownership is a little haughty.

Jets are in a two team town I don't think its a Giant town, per se, but I do think that the NFL jumps on the band wagon when you win and piles on and kicks you when you are down.

If the Jets ever pulled off a SB run like the Giants did in '07 and '11, they would get their props.

I have to say, this ranks pretty high on the "dude, seriously" list of posts that I've seen on this forum over the years.

But I'm not going to just insult and run. Here's my take...

    1. The Giants don't have a ton of positive talk about them, so that kind of undermines your thesis. They are being picked to finish 2nd or 3rd in the division. The media doesn't act like the Giants are anything more than a lucky team (again).

    2. The Jets were a shitshow at the end of last year. Why do you expect the media to ignore that and play nice? In this fantasy world with a nice NY media, can I be taller? I'd like to be taller.

    3. The Giants just won the Super Bowl and did so via an incredibly unlikely run that was sparked by beating the Jets. I think the Giants kind of this as an open and shut case, at least for a season or three.

Yep, that's prety much what we're telling you.
Fatty Mike & his likes in the media love to bash Jets because we are an easy target that generates headlines and consequently ratings. Some of them, like above-mentioned Mikey, also hate Jets. Which bring me to another point: Francessa doesn't need to be paid to shit on Jets, he gladly does it for free.

Actually I start to wonder if the OP is one of those beat writers (e.g. Cimini, but probably someone else -- his writing style feels diferent than Dick's).

YES!!!! Here is my conspiracy theory!
The OP is one of the new kids on the media block gathering/creating material for a break-through article
"Jets blaming Giants for media tensions"
completed with quotes from Jets faithfuls from TGG.

The reality is that the Jets started all the crap talk. Last year they were the best team in NY (according to themselves). Well, the Giants are the ones who are the champions now, and who was getting talked about all off season, the Jets (and Tebow). I would be pissed off as well, if I were a Giants player, fan, etc. With all that being said, I am starting to hate the Giants, especially with the simulated "Jet" actions during the game a few weeks ago. Usually I never really cared about what the Giants did, but I now want them to lose. I guess the bottom line is, don't mess with my team, even if they brought it on themselves.

No. The Jets are behind the Jets bashing(if it's really going on. I don't listen to sports talk radio anymore) due to their performance in the pre-season

the better question is are the Giants involved in some ploy to turn Jets fans into driveling morons or are there just a sect of moron Jets fans?

Yeah, because the Giants are really worried about making the Jets look bad after THEY WON TWO SUPER BOWLS IN FIVE YEARS! They have bigger fish to fry. We do a good enough job of making ourselves look bad.
