This would be a really good idea but the 2016 QB class is a wasteland right now. Mariota and Winston are way better than anything we'd find in the draft next year.

I think the Fins are an overachieving team but I'm not all that impressed with them. This game reminded me a little of the playoff game after we beat the Chargers because Schotty Senior got conservative and played Martyball even though the Jets D couldn't stop their passing game. Unfortunately a week later the Jets were in almost the same situation vs the Steelers and unfortunately Herm did the same thing. You think he might have learned something the previous week but all these guys like Rex etc who choke when they have a lead all they know how to do is to throw stats at you. Just like he did at his presser yesterday. Miami had the top pass defense in the league; so does that mean you run on every play! Thanks for the memories, Rex.

That is true, Mariotta and Winston were left over from last year's class (Mariotta stayed, Winston was a freshman).

Next year's draft looks dull. We have to take a qb now, Mariotta or Winston....

There's not much to talk about anymore. Prior to and early on in the season the most prevalent topic was whether or not John Idzik knew what he was doing now there's not enough Idzik supporters to continue the debate.

no doubt but who else is there to get excited about?

the best free agent QBs are likely to be Hoyer and Sanchez which hardly sets the pulse racing

Mariota can bring the excitement back, therefore he will not be on our board.

I think MG III or Gurley could bring plenty of excitement back.

    Have to?

This isn't Russia. Is this Russia?

Whether someone comes out early or we wait until 2017 we will get our QB.

You have to be patient and take what the draft gives you.

While taking defensive players eight years in a row shows a lack of direction we should be flexible enough to avoid letting perennial pro bowlers slip through our fingers because for some reason you think they play the wrong position and you do not need them.

Mariota, BPA, trade down if there's nothing they like. In that order.

Agree. I can see how you might lean one way or the other, or not want either, but I can't really understand how some people on here so strongly favor one guy over the other. I don't think anybody viewing this objectively would be surprised if either Mariota or Winston becomes a perennial pro bowler or another first round bust.

I'm spending more time watching the NCAAFB now than the NFL! Far more entertainuing and bigger crowds - also means I can stay up late and still make work on Monday!

All Woody has to do is force the team to draft one of the two top QBs upcoming in the draft. That's it, then there's buzz and publicity, even bad publicity where people are going to root against the Jets QB depending on which QB they grab.
