Because the West isn't supposed to mess around in Caucasian democracies the way we did in Iran? Well, New Zealand and Australia indicate other wise but it's easier for us to think of the Persians as WOG's because we have no problem setting up dictators in those societies and screwing them over generation after generation in the process.
Hey Walt I am not sure what you think of Iran but Iran is vastly different than Saudi Arabia or any other Middle East Arab country. Iran has a state tradition for over 500 years. Believe it or not, there are free elections where candidates race to get people's vote. Of course Iran is not a land of freedom but it is also not where the people are opressed like people in Arab countries. I visited Iran for 2 weeks in the past and I was extremely surprised to see what I saw. Of course I have been to Saudi Arabia as well and I know what a shitty country Saudi Arabia is. Iran on the other hand is different. Another topic another discussion.

Cool, thanks I know little about it, so I don't really have an opinion. But the movie gave me a peak into it, and it seems different than the other Mid-East Arab countries. I was surprised. It all makes sense now why we didn't complain about this NAVY incident (in which our sailors were pictured/treated)... Our main goal was to just get the sailors back. Prison Swap Today...We get back 4 prisoners, they get back 6 or 7 prisoners...This must have been in the works, was way more important and didn't want the boat indident to get derailed. We didn't complain because if two boats full of Iranian sailors had been in Long Island sound we'd have held them for months trying to figure out WTF they were doing there. Total incompetence on our part getting two boats captured in about the only place in the Persian Gulf where the Iranian hardliners are guaranteed to be patrolling.
