I agree I think the browns have more consecutive wins and beleve its 4 games than they have had in more tha 6 years so why not he and tannbaum did draft very well

We had one of the easiest schedules. This team goes at least 11-5 with that schedule. Next question.

No, because if Mangini wasn't such a moron Cleveland could have been 8-8 or 9-7, running a 500-year old Jamal Lewis when he had Harrison on his roster, even after Harrison put up a big game against the Bengals in Week 5. Heck, he started another kid (Jennings) before FINALLY being forced to put Harrison in the last three weeks.

So with Harrison at RB they win three in a row and have their other best game of the season - an OT loss against Cinci in Week 5.

No, Mangini, although he has a vision of what he wants a team to do, he often develops tunnel vision which causes him to become inflexible. Football is a dynamic and fluid game, the best coaches are not only proactive but reactive to the changes that occur within a game.

No. Even though he finished strong, he just isn't a strong leader and an even worse talent evaluator. He learned nothing from his time with us.

I think Mangini is a good coach and gets a lot of undeserved hate from NYJ fans for no reason. He built a pretty good team here.

His talent evaluation is obviously not that bad having drafted Revis, Harris, Mangold, Brick, and Leon. Don't tell me that's all Tannenbaum

i agree. him and tanny were great together personnel wise minus a few here and there. think of the players we acquired in that time frame. of course players like gholston you get mad about but what about the revis' and harris' of the team

maybe his style didn't agree with the players at the end of the day, but he's not a bad coach. he's helped us in cleveland with the trades lol, so why the hate?

i hope he keeps his job and i'm glad the browns went on a win streak. that is definitely a tortured fan base, maybe more so than us....
we never lost our team only have to them later replaced with basically an expansion team roster.

Not all 9-7's are created equal. we played a MUCH tougher schedule w/ a rookie QB not a future HOfer.

I think Mangini did a great job in Cleveland this year and I still believe he can be a successful coach in the NFL.

Great points. Mangini is being shitted upon quite often, but don't forget that when he came to NY, he took over 4-12 team and won 10 games first year. That is even better than Ryan taking over 9-7 team and repeating 9-7 (granted we got fortunate as this year 9 wins were enough for play-offs). Also, as bad as Cleveland played, Mangini actually won more games (5) than the team he took over (4 wins last year). Not stellar at all, but a small step forward nevertheless. Plus great momentum for next year winning 4 straight. And of course giving us Sanchez and Edwards :) Mangini has done all right, and he is still very young. I think he has a bright future as a coach.

As far as future HOfer (Favre), you are right. Take a look at the passing rankings this year: http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=0&statisticCategory=PASSING&season=2009&seasonType=REG
Just imagine if this year instead of Sanchez starting (rated among worst 3 passers among starting QBs) we had Brett, who is #2 overall rated, 33 TDs, only 7 INT in 531 attempts, 68% completion rate. And Sanchez would learn from one of the best. We would have had division long wrapped up and probably first round bye also. But ... we all know last year Brett played with torn shoulder. When healthy, we were 8-3 and actually one of the early favorites. Unfortunately he got hurt, and the rest is history. Can't blame Mangini for that though.

He was shown the door because he is a complete asshole. If he loses his job in Cleveland it will be at least partially for the same reason.

Why is he a complete asshole? He led us to 10-6 record and play-offs his first year after taking over 4-12 team. Even Ryan's record is worse in first year (while taking over 9 win team, not 4, like Eric did), although I hope we can win some play-off games. And Mangini actually improved Browns, granted by only winning 1 game more vs last year for a total 5, but still.

mangini is actually a good coach he's young and a little nutso but he may develop into an excellent coach as he matures. I think he'll get at least another yr in Cleveland as the team showed some life this season. Could be wrong though.

Favre got Mangini fired. Rex had leverage to reign in his QB when playing badly and sit him while hurt, Mangini didn't. I'm much happier to have Rex but Mangini took the fall for Favre shitting the bed at the end. We had the same record with Sanchez throwing 20 picks as with Favre throwing 21 or whatever it was. Sanchez will not be retiring or leaving us in limbo after the season, either.
