WHOA! I was in the 82nd in the late '60s through all the race stuff going on then, and never knew ONE paratrooper there to be anything like you describe. We never had any incidents, even during those trying times, so I have nothing but terrific memories of all the guys I served with there. They were the best.

Same thing when I got to 'Nam. As a 1LT, I was in charge of a five-man team of US Advisors. 3 of us were black and 2 of us white and we always had each other's backs, so I really can't relate to what you're referring to. It changed my life forever with regard to racial bullshit. We just couldn't afford to see each other as anything other than fellow soldiers and good friends, period.

But enough of this... we're way off topic here. Make a trip up to NJ sometime and we'll show you a state that's truly beautiful.

And while yer at it, bring that there girlfriend a your'n. The one that looks like that there picture she's got of herself that she's been a-plasterin' all over the internet! I might want to bring 'er over to Gate D fer awhile.

Bub, I was born on the military base; I served; and so did all 4 of my brothers. My younger brother is now in an Airborne unit in Alaska, so I really don't need you to tell me about any of that, nor offend me further with your issues with women. I think we're done here.

Basically, the Jets will do well if they finish .500 this season with Favre. This means a lower draft pick next season and no playing time, nor any significant development for their young Quarterbacks. Favre is no idiot - he knows that he is going from a team with a winning tradition to one with a mediocre tradition (and that's being kind).

For a team that has not had a decent long term QB in 2,000 years, the Favre pickup is questionable at best. Basically, it is a typical and consistent move for this patheic Jets' management. He would have been better suited going to a team which is capable of contending now, not five years from now, when he'll be long gone from the league. At least he should feel a bit familiar with the similar ugly green jersey he'll be wearing.
