I think he'll be better than he was yesterday but not be "a new player." He'll still have about a 50% completion rate, make some questionable throws and probably be the reason for at least one turnover.
I'm not sure about new player, but I believe benching him was for his own good. I'm not sure who Rex will announce who will start against JAX, but if he does choose Sanchez, I won't be too surprised.
I totally agree, How else will they know if Mark has gotten his head screwed on straight from riding pine if they don't run him out again. Jax is enough of a creampuff to make an appraisal and still recover if it's the same old Mark. SF
No. Why would a good performance even matter? Sanchez has proven that he is not an NFL caliber quarterback
Please No More Sanchez!!! No matter what he says, the last place he wants to be is on the field, He has lost all of his confidence
Yes, I for one think Sanchez will come out next week as a new player. Go ahead everyone, ridicule me if you must. But I think he holds the clipboard in a very professional manner. And he makes it look like he makes notes on it frequently. I'm in fact overwhelmed by his calm demeanor while acting as backup and his stage presence after benching is "California Cool." I also like the way he handled the mike... really cool after the game. And I think his sideline presence is exactly what McElroy needs. So, I am totally on board with Sanchez coming out next week as a new player.
Wow , define irony. Jets are playing the Jags. Two fanbases that refuse to believe their QB absolutely sux when the entire world knows different. Anyone with an once of football knowledge could tell from day one Sancheeze sucked. LOL But not jet fans we can't admit to Pat fans who have been telling us he sucked for years the real truth. Mark sux and will continue to suck. Because and wait for it ... He's a terrible player. Sancheeze supporters have zero evidence to back up their claims but continue to make fools of themselves.
LOL WOW! JUST WOW! You really think this team is making the playoffs? Is it the dogshit record we have? The dogshit players and coaches? Or the fact that we haven't beat a good team in two years? Just curious? I'll wait ...
^It's for another thread, but I'll keep it simple. It's the fact that we don't play any more good teams for the regular season. Everyone we play has an equal or worse record than we do. We're only 2 games out (should have been one...)
he would play against the jaguars but does that really prove anything? mark has had good games before and then the next week he has 3 interception 75 yard games
regardless of who we play, and whether it is realistic that we don't lose another game (which I think it is), we still need either Pittsburgh or the Colts to lose three of their last 4 games, and the Bengals to lose two (or even three if their one win is against Pittsurgh, which we actually need to occur considering two of the Steelers games are against the Chargers and Browns who they should beat). so, winning out is realistic, but making the playoffs is not, because what needs to occur outside of the Jets control is so unlikely it isn't even worth considering. we aren't talking about multiple teams needing to simply lose one or two games, we are talking about multiple teams needing to lose 3 out of 4 to finish the season.
It may be a bad mindsight, but I tend to discount a player that has to be benched before he can realize its time to get his act together. What kind of mentality do you have if I have to take your job away before you decide to actually give a damn enough to do good at it?
If that's all it is, then that's a fixable problem. I was listening to ESPN radio, and I think it was Steve Young that said he was near positive that confidence was the issue. If Sanchez wants to turn it around, he has to have his confidence in himself and his team. When you don't, you worry too much and over analyze every play and every read and try so hard not to make a mistake, that a decent defense can exploit by baiting throws. It seems to happen a lot more lately. He has never been benched before in his NFL career. Hopefully it lights the much needed fire under his ass. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. At least Rex tried.
