Come Sunday Wilson should and must be the better QB on the field Where Sam's career goes is hard to tell but I agree with the all posts saying he is just not a great player Like so many USC QBs he is headed for backup land or palookaville imo
dealing darnold had nothing to do with competition and all to do with resources. JD was gonna keep him if he couldn't get what he wanted. carolina caved and now we have an extra pick who could be a starter in a position of need plus an extra pick which could be used to move up ro get a role player. thats a lot better then an expensive backup QB who wasn't panning out.
I think you put the wrong picture up by mistake. This is the guy who was ballllin' for the Panthers. Including, by the way, his block on the long pass to Anderson, without which Darnold would have probably been sacked.
Sam had a RZ fumble... and missed an WR on a simple pattern for a TD under ZERO pressure. Just missed. Basicall;y it was the same play that Zach made to Davis on the 2nd TD.
Sam's a reasonable game manager for a talented offense at this point. I doubt he is going to be in Pro Bowl consideration by mid-season but he's probably not going to cost the Panthers any games.
I'd expect him to maybe cost them a game or two against some really good D's but he'll probably average it out by being 'be the man' with some guady stats against a couple of bottom feeders. Carolina will go as far as their underated D and CMC takes them + a 3rd placed schedule including the NFC East.
23/34 304 2TD (Rushing) 0 INTs and most importantly. 3 and OHHHHHH! Yea, BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At some point. This is all going to boil over In the worst way for us, especially If Wilson doesn't get It together moving forward. The life as a Jet fan. Sigh. I can't even imagine what a 3-0 start feels like, when was the last time that's happened for us? I bet Sam feels fucking great. Shit. I can't remember what that feels like as a football fan either.
