For Months I have been posting regularly on this Board to move up..NOW its happened Another good thing that happened was we DID NOT Sign Cousins ..although 70 per cent here were convinced about him..let's see how he fares in Minnesota..TBH he has a strong team behind him ..but it wouldn't surprise me if they Lost a few games and maybe he chokes for them in the Playoffs hahaha What will happen is fairly simple: At Three it will be QB all the way for the NY JETS..and guys it WILL be a win win Because ALL of them must be SO GOOD that what separates them is so minuscule that it's a MUST decision Mac is not THAT stupid ..he wants a QB and we need one for the future and his job..I think the Johnsons are also FULLY SUPPORTIVE of the move to 3 or maybe even TOLD him to do it.. I have questioned his management decisions in the past but I think Mac played it smart by SECURING one of the TOP 3...my top 3 are Darn Rosen and Mayfield What are Macs top 3 ..?? That's what's scary cause one could be Josh Allen ( not really ready to start, lots of work) and that's where I am sweating this out
We have been burned with hackenberg that is a Josh all3n clone same numbers same arm same footwork same accuracy
https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/65zs0w/oc_why_585_is_the_magic_number_for_qbs_in_the_nfl/ The experts loved Leaf and Russell too. Josh Allen downvote. Fuck Josh Allen. Deer in headlights. #snowdaydrinking
Maybe this will work out the way the article predicts & we get rosen The "expectation" is that QB prospects Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, and Josh Allen will not be ranked in the Giants' Top 3 when they finalize their board ahead of next month's NFL Draft, reports Paul Schwartz of the NY Post. Rather, the Giants will likely have RB Saquon Barkley at the top of their Draft board, with OL Quenton Nelson and DE Bradley Chubb rounding out their Top 3 -- though not necessarily in that order -- according to Schwartz
He’s not even close to a Hackenburg clone. There’s a reason Hackenburg was considered a 3rd day selection and Allen is considered a top 5 selection. Comparing the two is so beyond lazy and downright ignorant.
Ginger to step in immediately for a hot weekend.... Maryann if youre looking for a long term prospect
Interesting though not surprising, but what were the QB's other issues? From that list, I didn't see any 1st rounders so one would think there were other issues besides accuracy. I wouldn't make this reference the end all to determining if a QB will succeed in the NFL. Geno Smith for example.... 65.3 - 64.8 - 65,8 - 71.2% in college.
Just spitballing a reason: Nobody knew his arm was a rocket launcher that first year, so he was throwing to WRs who got behind the defense. After that first year, opposing defenses played deep every play and forced him to find somebody open underneath.
I had to edit my post because his amount of play the first year was miniscule. But I also noted regarding Geno Smiths stats in college.
They'll take the turnover king Darnold. Or the injury wreck Rosen. Or the little punk Mayfield. Or the backfiring cannon Allen. Or worst of all someone else.
As I've posted on other threads, Rosen would be a disaster because of his concussion issues. He had at least two serious concussions last year which forced him to miss the bowl game. It would be truly terrible to take a guy at #3 who is one concussion away from missing a season - or a career. We don't need a Dee Milliner sequel.
I see this differently or at least will throw another theory out there. Perhaps the Jets only like 2 qb’s, but the ones they like are not universally recognized as being the top qbs in this draft. Who’s to say they don’t like Rosen 1 and Mayfield 2 as they fit their (West Coast Offense/Bates) offense best.
