Keep in mind that the better games will now be televised on Sunday Nights. Monday nights used to be where the premiere matchups were meant to be televised, but with all the contract maneuvering, Sunday Night is now the premiere football event.
speaking of which, anyone rember that game in 1980 against the Dolphins where there were no announcers? Kind of strange to just watch the game, but I put the radio on instead. I think that they though it would be the thing of the future but it did not succeed.
Yeah, I remember it. And I was only 9 years old so it must of been pretty weird. The Jets actually won the game to earn a sweep of the Dolphins despite finishing 4-12.....
that was when the Jets had their annual saturday December game. As a matter of fact, they played on Saturday in December for a long time and it seems like it just stopped.
weeks 10-15 aren't set yet, neither is week 17... so if we go on a hot streak then i think its very possible for the Jets to have a primetime game
That's a negative. Trust me, my fins went without one last year and it was the first time in over 20 years we didn't get a primetime game. It happens.
The Jets always get atleast one Monday nighter (usually against a divsion rival) don't they? With the new "flex schdule" any team that has a good record halfway through the season will get atleast one prime time slot.
Just checked it out a bit further. We played on MNF in 1992 and then didn't have another monday night game until the 98 season.... http://espn.go.com/abcsports/mnf/s/alltimehistory.html
I think out of pitty the Jets MIGHT get one Sunday Night game for a NY market...But i'm lookin at every Sunday being 1:00 and 4:15 games.
Christmas night game is all the JETS get for now....BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember they can change any of the last 6 JETS games to sunday nighters if you guys are in the race for play-offs....
