Actually, you're wrong. Even if the Pats lost vs the Packers, we would have to beat the Bears in order to have any shot to overtake them. At 11-3, the Pats would own tie breakers over us for the reasons stated in my previous post. Thus, we would need to be 12-4 and they would need to be 11-5. So we would have had to beat the Bears in order to jump them. Let me sum it up for you simply: If the Pats had lost to GB, the scenarios where NYJ overtake the Pats: NYJ wins over Bears and Bills and NE losses over Bills and Phins NYJ finish 12-4 vs. NE finish 11-5. Any other result is at best a tie record with NE, where NE has a tie breaker over NYJ. No other scenarios exist. Current scenarios where NYJ overtake the Pats: NYJ wins over Bears and Bills and NE losses over Bills and Phins NYJ finish 12-4 vs. NE finish 12-4 with NYJ tie breaker over NE. Any other result is a clear loss to NE. No other scenarios exist In other words, Pats win or loss over GB DID NOT MATTER.
I think you are all missing one thing: Jets win out 12-4 (4-2 in Div) Loss to Ne & Mia Pats lose out 12-4 (3-3 in Div) Loss to Jets, Buff & Mia Jets would win the decision and 1 seed based on head to head vs Steelers 1-0 But lets get realistic, i think Beliceck records in games following a loss is 18-1 ( Could be wrong but I thinks it that) so even if they loss next week chances of him losing again would be very unlikely.
That would be hilarious to see the Cheaters be a wild card team, the whining out of NE will be deafening!!! ats_suck:
Dont sleep on Buffalo, they've been in almost every game they've played this year, so I wouldn't be surprised if the give NE a run for their money for at least 3 quarters. I don't expect Buffalo to win, but who expected Cleveland to buttfuck the Pats this year?
If all Buffalo's three point losses this year were wins they could be 9-5 this year and threatening for a wildcard.
The Pats gave up 30 points to Buffalo at home this year so I am holding onto a small glimmer of hope. Also, they haven't had a single turnover in 6 games and the ball just doesn't bounce that way for very long.
it's a long shot, but it's still a chance. the beauty of the NFL is that anything can happen. if anything it adds a little drama in the form of scoreboard watching
