The Raiders should take him up on that. They'd be fools not to release him at this point, while they can potentially recover some of that guaranteed money.
His career could very well be over. He won't sign for a vet min and no one will pay this guy $30m over the next 2 seasons. UNREAL
What an asshole. I don't remember him being this much of a diva at the Steelers. The Raiders seem to bring out the worst in players.
This is getting beyond ridiculous now. I suspected some shenanigans from Brown at Oakland, but couldn't see this getting this far, this quickly.
Holy Crap, HAH, what? Hahahahahahahahaha! Time for @Cman60 to merge the threads, but this is beautiful. I can't wait to read what's in the other two.
I think Brown and Gruden are doing insider betting on whether Brown ever plays for the Raiders. Only possible explanation.
I'm dying here. Yesterday he made an "emotional apology" to the team and today he's canned?! This is absolutely glorious. Mayock probably went apeshit after Gruden said Brown was playing on Monday vs. Denver. I'm sure it was ugly over there. Had to be. Nothing better than watching a team I historically despise sink to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. I'll have to find it, but "I called it". Time to start patting myself so hard on the back that I'll need a body cast when I'm done. Too bad this didn't happen to the Cheats, but I'll take it. Speaking of which, Belifraud made phonecalls in the middle of the night to precede it this auspicious event, everybody knows that. Antonio Brown is a Cheat is T-minus 10 seconds . . . Well, maybe not. THIS TIME.
I could see a team giving him a contract with lots of incentives and lots of safeguards against disruptive behavior. In fact, I could see it being the Patriots - they've done it before with head cases. It has almost always not worked out, but it did with Moss, and even when it didn't they just moved on without any lasting effects. I can't see it being the Browns, since it would make OBJ go absolutely bonkers.
This is why teams like the Pats, Steelers and Eagles are competitive every year....they eliminate cancers like this on their teams and create interchangeable parts instead. When you have great leaders, you don't have to make splashy moves for guys that have talent but bring chaos. I'm hoping this is what Douglas does for us in the next few years! Guys like AB, Brandon Marshal, TO, Marshawn Lynch are not stable and shoud not be brought into a locker room....period!
It worked so well with Moss that he quit on the ball in the Super Bowl when it mattered. It was worth the match made in heaven just for that as far as I'm concerned. I challenge anyone to disagree with me that he didn't quit on the ball. 'Cause he did. Thanks, Randy!
Curious to see what the Raiders will do. They could try to wait him out and see if this is just a tantrum that'll pass. If his guaranteed money is truly voided (and the NFLPA doesn't get that overturned), it cost them nothing to hang on to him and just deactivate him if he refuses to play. Might as well see if they can smooth things over a bit and get SOMETHING for those draft picks they traded. And keep him from suiting up for a rival. Man this went up in flames at least half a season faster than I thought
Yeah, but what tantrum did he have AFTER Gruden said Antonio Brown apologized to the team and was playing on Monday? This is morbidly fascinating. ; )
