He has had a number of drops this year, but a few would have been tough catches. He's a rook ... hopefully he'll overcome that as the game slows down and he can just react.

Definitely would have to disagree with that... He's had one or two bad drops this year, Becht had one or two bad drops a game...

I vote Don in a landslide. At least joe goes away a few months a year. Don does not know when to quit.

 

He had one or two bad drops last week. Not that its all on him. I tend to hate all rookie receivers.

Good old anthony becht. I always remember him as a good solid blocker but terrible pass catcher , He dropped alot of easy ones... Nice to see him again come sunday.

 

Becht was a good player for us. Yes he had inconsistent hands but he was a great blocker. Not every 1st rd pick becomes a star, he became a solid starter for us and I think he gets treated a little unfairly by Jet fans.

 

A beast? He has 13 receptions and I would bet he has at least 7-8 drops but I'm not sure where to check that.

Actually, I found it and he isn't even on the list. Seemd to me he was dropping a ball every week.

I agree, except that a blocking TE could easily be had in the 2nd or 3rd rounds...

 

They're having some trouble getting him here though. Every time the check-in agent at the airport hands him his boarding pass he drops it. He may be at the airport a bit longer than was anticipated.

 

I'm sure that will take up an enormous amount of space on his mantle.

Are they counting Sunday when he didn't turn around fast enough in the end zone for the one pass from Favre? That wasn't a drop. It was a rookie mistake but not a drop. You could see Favre explaining it to him on the sideline after that series.

 

Becht was underappreciated while he was here. He wasn't the greatest pass catching TE we've ever had, but he wasn't nearly as bad as everyone makes him out to be .

 

You're right, he wasn't terrible. We've had much worse....more often than not.

 

I hated seeing Becht drop the ball so many times, and seeing a big guy like him go down on first contact when he did catch it, but I doubt we'll ever have a TE that could block half as well. It was like having another lineman on the field.
