Sarcasm aside, you cannot broad brush an entire group of people - that will never wash. Remember the bigoted hatchet job Oday Aboushi faced while with the Jets in that rag published by David Horowitz, a racist of the first and worst order. And if that wasn't bad enough MLB.com media coordinator Jonathan Mael added to the stupidity by going on Twitter and tweeting “The @NYJets are a disgrace of an organization. The Patriots have Aaron Hernandez, the Jets have Oday Aboushi.”

The Jets had Aboushi's back and responded that they “strongly believe in diversity, inclusion and tolerance of others.”

    Point NYJ.

I have already posted poll numbers regarding American Muslims views. You can choose to ignore them but that requires you to live in an alternate reality.

Setting up a false equivalence between Christians and Muslims is as stupid as setting up a false equivalence between scientologists and Christians or any two groups. Why are the jews left out of this? Is it because they aren't bombing things here? So clearly religions can be more or less violent than one another

Nobody is saying one is bad and the other is good. But one is worse by every objective measure currently. We aren't fighting the inquisition right now

"Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you leave a Christian religion, you should be killed for it.

Vast numbers of Christians do not treat women as second class citizens.

Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you draw a picture of Jesus Christ, you should get killed for it."

That's today, by the way, not at the time of the crusades.

You would think there would be more public outrage over this.
    Interesting that there isn't

This while conversation could be easily avoided if the good will of Muslims wasn't being presented by white liberals , but instead Muslims themselves. If you do t want to be associated with a bad group , I think we all learned as early as grade school the best thing to do was to separate yourself

Can keeps repeating the "Christians good... Muslims bad... Check" line as if it's supposed to mean something.

Sure there are bad Christians. Lots of them. The biggest issue is the anti-abortion violence. It's awful.

They aren't knocking down buildings or blowing up parades or terrorizing major cities or beheading infidels ALL in the name of their God.

If you can't acknowledge that, there is no reason to continue the discussion.

    Check.

I agree, that's one of the reasons why I am an atheist. It's just that muslims are the worst of the bunch now.

Until the muslim community is proactive in trying to stop these acts by their islamic brothers, they are supporting them. The silence is deafening.

Most people who say they are Christians are not very devout. They say it but they make it fit into their own morality. So even though the bible has parts that can be used to incite terrorists the people who are called to act are the extreme fringe.

Those who follow Islam tend to take the religion more literally. They are better Muslims. So even though the ones that commit acts of violent terrorism are still fringe, the fringe is much bigger. Everything is skewed. That's why you have a country like Saudi Arabia still beheading criminals publicly. Not terrorism but accepted violence.

Also there is a fundamental difference between a religion that is waiting for Jesus to return and punish the infidels than a religion that promises virgins in paradise as a reward

I think part of it is just that most people simply don't give a shit about rival gangs killing each other. They aren't in a gang themselves and therefore have very little chance of being effected by such violence.

But when you see a bunch of normal (non gang banger), innocent people getting massacred while going about there day to day lives, it's fucking scary because it could easily have been you or your family. It's a lot closer to home for most normal people. You also have an exceptionally low chance of being effected by this type of event, mind you.

Except that he is not connected to ISIS any more than he is connected to the Dolphins. To continue to try to make a link to ISIS is futile, it does not exist.

    No one said he's "connected".

He was inspired by radical Islam, and obviously Isis who is trying to get people who sympathize with their cause to execute these type of attacks.

You talking about the Dolphins and trying to liken it to anything about this just sounds exceptionally retarded. Well done.

Good points but i would be willling to guess the number on innocent people getting shot in Chicago by bullets intended for a gangs banger equals the amount of gang bangers getting shot, if not exceeds it.seems to me the uproar, when you factor in the already strict gun laws with the amount of violence, should be louder.

Let me make it simple for you to understand: the Dolphins are a benign organization (at least as far as killing people). Islam is a benign religion. The fact that some splinter group claims to be killing people in the name of Islam does not change that fact; and the fact that some jackass in Florida claims to kill people in the name of ISIS does not make his claims true either.

Certainly mainstream Islam could make this a lot more clear to the masses if they mounted a permanent campaign to halt the violence but all we get is a little lip service each time we have an attack then they crawl back under their rugs.
