Sanjay Lal should be the next to go. Our receivers couldn't catch herpes this past year.

I agree. I'm very suprised he didn't get the axe. The recievers were terrible this year fundamentally, and he didn't do a good job in Oakland either.

A couple other of my thoughts from that staff:

-Ben Kotwica, special teams - It will be interesting to see if he's any good. Westhoff gave his endorsement but the specials struggled big time last year. How much of that was talent? Was Westhoff running the show or was he easing Kotwica into the job? If so, that's not too encouraging.

-David Lee, QB coach - I can help but think this is a "good ole boy" hire. He didn't do a very good job at all in Buffalo, he's a spread/wildcat specialist and at this point that's not what this team needs, but we'll see, maybe they have differant plans (like picking up a differant QB, more dual-threat)

-Dennis Thurman, D -Coordinator: Glad they promoted him and didn't scoop up Rex's brother. All accounts are he's very competent. It will be interesting to see if the D looks the same this year or has differant play calling tendancies. If so, they we will know that Pettine was calling a lot of the plays, if not that we know it's been Rex all along.

-Tim McDonald, DBs- I like this hire. I am intrigued if this means they go after his son, USC Safety T.J. McDonald in the 2nd round.
