Yeah, I'd imagine that the dubs are just as good these days. Originally they tried to market DBZ as more of a kids' show in the US, and censored the hell of out it, which is why I enjoyed the subs (plus I couldn't wait the few years to watch the later sagas that weren't released in English yet). Now I am excited. I've always wanted to learn more about future Trunks. I didn't realize they had that much content released already. Oh man, can't wait to get home today.
http://putlockers.ch/watch-dragon-ball-super-tvshow-online-free-putlocker.html -- Decent # of popups prior to the video starting, but won't crash or hurt your computer. English subtitles. Just be wary cause the series starts rather slow and builds up after like 20 episodes. Future Trunks saga starts on episode 47. A lot of returning faces in that saga as well, including a surprise villain who is bad-ass as hell.
Dragonballz. Can't ever look into one of these threads without a handful of d00dz obsessing about that show. I'm not going to denigrate you, I just don't understand this shit. I tried to watch some of it, multiple times, and every time I ended up watching some cartoon guy with dumb hair talking for 20 minutes about how bad-ass he was, followed by a minute and 30 seconds of a fight that was immediately followed by 10 minutes of dialogue and then credits. Someone please tell me this stupid fucking show has actually evolved past that, or I'm going to troll this thread forever.
I have no idea how I loved DBZ when I was younger so much. You can literally cut 50 percent of the entire series, and if done correctly, you wouldn't miss a moment of important content. DB Super is much better about the filler situation. I tend to let a 5-8 episodes pile up before watching them... Because, like any show, I do get wicked pissed off when nothing happened and you waited a week.
I go on and off with anime.. I may ever go a year without watching one then binge a bunch of ones I have not watched. I don't really watch the shows, as I barely have time to pick up/binge watch new series. I would say good Anime movies to watch (if you are into the scf-fi/thriller type) with my fav choices on top: Akira Ghost in the Shell 1 Perfect Blue Ghost in the Shell 2 Paprika was one I watched recently... It was pretty good, but I found myself not super interested. Those are a few that come to mind to start. There was one from when I was young about a police force and mech units I totally forget what it was called but I really liked it as a kid. Not sure how adult me would like it though. 5 Centimeters per Second got a lot of love, but I am not really into love story movies at all. I have a few on standby that I hopefully get around to before 2018.
It was really good, except I was not a fan of how it ended. I don't want to spoil if for anyone, but am talking about what happened for the saga to end and some of the in my opinion poor imaging/drawing (whatever it's called these days) with the final transformation of the antagonist
The only Japanese cartoon that was ever worth half a shit was 'Speed Racer'. Oh, my God, we used to die. The dubbing was like watching the original 'Godzilla' or some D minus chop-socky movie. Chim chim never got it quite right, and all he had to do was screech. I have no clue what any of you nerds are even talking about - and I'm glad.
Yeah I look back and I think being young was the reason why we enjoyed watching it. It was simple, the characters were enjoyable, the transformations, etc. I look back now and I feel like the Dragon Ball Z movies were better then the show. Better fighting scenes and normally went straight to the point.
The best part about the end is how he's defeated, but I agree in terms of the final transformation. That was the first Dragon Ball Super Saga I really enjoyed.
I guess spoilers don't matter here, it just seems like the ultimate trump card. All DB sagas (that I can remember) end when once of their members steps up and takes the antagonist out, this time they summon in the strongest person in the galaxy and he ends it in 3 minutes. If they ended it with Trunks cutting the guy in half using the power of the population to kill him, that seems like a fitting ending to a DB saga.
Yeah I agree 110% ... Zenō-sama was an overshare and it should've ended with Trunks and the awesome dialogue. I like Beerus, but I find Zenō-sama to be very annoying / boring. Black Goku was really awesome though, enjoyed the story up until the exact end you are referring to. I haven't been watching as of late, I'll have to catch up on the new arc.
Clearly, your power level is not over 9000 yet. Yeah, the best thing I can compare it to is WWE, 75% drama and soap opera, 25% fighting. I loved the story line, although it got a little repetitive at times. Every time they are at the brink of defeat and find a way to become more powerful. Then another more powerful villain emerges, then they find another way to increase their power even more. Like how many times has Piccolo said, "I've never felt a power so strong!"
Yo guys avoid the spoilers for dragon ball super. Or give a heads up. The dubbing is on episode 5 lol
Damn sorry about that Poeman. Just ignore mine and 101's short convo... You should switch over to the subtitled for one episode just to listen to Goku... I laughed my ass off the first time I heard him fight in DB Super in the subtitled version. A ton of high pitched "yayayayayayayayaya"
My fault, we'll let you catch up . If you are interested I put a link up has every episode with English subtitles.
Has anyone else seen Perfect Blue? I'm into Thriller/Sci-Fi, Perfect Blue falls into Thriller, and I thought it was really well done. I almost turned it off in 5 minutes because it starts with a pop band singing an entire song, and I am not into that part of Japanese culture... But I am glad I didn't. Good pacing, good twists, it was just a solid movie.
I saw it was highly recommended a year or two ago so I started watching it. And I turned it off after 5 minutes. There's only so much corny Japanese shit I can tolerate. Maybe someday I'll grit my teeth through the early parts.
I thought after that pop music crap in the first 5ish minutes, that stuff goes on the back burner and becomes very minimal... It does come back up from time to time in like 30 second spurts because it is about an actress moving from pop rock to acting... Obviously some messed up stuff happens along the way. My opinion it was a good movie, so if you are into the thriller/suspense drama it's worth a view.
