Afc south is wide open now. Colts still have enough to compete. Texans just lost Miller for the year but still have fire power and the jags D looks legit again.
Then fuck him. No sympathy for Luck. You want to badmouth the Jets, glad you're now miserable and beat up
Amen!!!! Luck took a Lot of hits.... if you got a franchise quarterback you damn well better Protecting him
Wow. I had ultimate respect for the guy. So sad to see him retire. In retrospect, you guys think Colts regret trading with the Jets and eventually missing out on Darnold? Of course they couldn't foresee this but this was the first thing that came to my mind after hearing the news. PS: Let's keep this thread here for a while and I will eventually move it to NFL Forum. Edit: Looks like we already have a thread at NFL Forum. Moving this now.
To think the Colts traded us the Sam pick. They got a lot of value out of it, but I'll bet they wish they had it back now.
He must be completely beaten down and checked out to walk away from what, $50M? Wow. Who's next up for Indy? Brissett? They won't make the playoffs but they won't suck hard either. Welcome to mediocrity hell. Next time draft an oline.
Friend of mine literally drafted him for his money league QB an hour before this came out. Cant stop laughing
I never ever EVER draft before the end of the preseason. I'm sure anyone who drafted Lamar Miller understands. Not that I would've drafted Luck with the injury concern.
I think he could make a fair point to re draft in that case. I'm sure it would never happen, but that's really unfair.
"Greatest QB prospect since John Elway" my ass. Thnx you Indy for letting us move up to draft Sam Darnold!!! Enjoy your LG Indy with no QB lol
In their defense, it was a great draft pick, and it's not like they could have known this would happen..
He was, and not since John Elway, since Peyton Manning. He could’ve been one of the best if his GM hadn't been an ass and given him a fucking O line. This isn't Luck's fault or his talent’s, it's completely the Colts' fault as an organization.
Yeah I don't see how anyone can dispute this, he never really had solid teams either. Last year that team was mediocre and he played his ass off to get them back into the playoffs. I still don't understand why he resigned with them though, that still confuses me, I understand he would get more money by staying in Indy, but it's clear now money is not that important. He should have got out of there and never looked back after the organizations failure to protect him. I'm not 100% convinced he is retiring for good, in his post-game conference he didn't sound like someone retiring. I believe there is a chance he is doing this in order to take the pressure away from him, from returning, so he can try and get healthy, and if he does then he can decide if he wants to return, but now the pressure of him having to come back is gone, if he doesn't feel healthy, he doesn't have to feel forced in any way. I also do not think he wants to be a apart of Indy ever again, clearly. During the interview someone asked him "in a year from now and the ankles healed will you come back?", his response "I can't see the future" while laughing.
