Ty Law was once considered injury prone. Dyson has the potential to be a decent shut down corner. We finally have a guy at the right age. I say we stop signing players 31 and older...
I don't agree. I don't remember Dyson as a standout player in either of his first two stops. To me he's a journeyman, OK corner. Not horrible but not someone you can plug in as a starter and say we're good here for the next 5 years. The FO is giving away money to older, mediocre veterans who aren't clearly better than the guys we already have. In the case of Dyson, why not draft a guy to push Barrett?
I, like everyone on this board, watched every game last year. I'd have to say easily half of Law's picks were caused by deflections that were tipped by Rhodes or a linebacker. I'm not saying he should be penalized for working the tip drill well, by I don't remember many plays like he made vs. Indy in the AFC Championship a couple of years ago. And I really don't like what he did off the field by missing Mondays and looking like he was three months pregnant from not working out. Finally, we should phase out any player who constantly refers to himself in the third person.
I think signing Dyson was a good move. He isnt too old and I think he can be a quality, plus, he wants to be here. Also, just because we signed Dyson doesnt mean we still cant get another CB in the draft, maybe with one of our 3rd or 4th rounders.
I dont like drafting a corner at this point. How many corners do you need. I could see a 5th or 6th rounder just for depth
How is 26 older? and I would say he has been solid. I watch alot of Titan games because of Bulluck is the man. So I saw alot of Dyson. Also he fills a need. Miller is already here to push Barrett.
At 26 (and if he stays healthy) he's a guy we can work with and improve upon, although his size is a bit smallish for me (reminiscent of Ray Mickens). If he covers okay at the start of an opposing team's drive, that's good enough for me, but I can also see him struggling against larger receivers in the Red Zone, so we'll still need someone else in there for that.
You're the lone person on the entire board with David Barrett in an avatar, keep your identity:beer:. And it doesn't necessarily mean that his days are numbered, him and Miller will battle out at right corner. 5 years $15-17 million off memory...
How is he a journeyman corner? Dyson was on the Titans for 4 years and Seattle for one. Both teams released him for cap reasons and tried to resign him this year. He had an INT return for a TD and fumble recovery in Seattle's beat down of Philly. He also played in the SB. He was only injured for 2 games with the Titans, so last year was an aberration. Plus he is 26, how is that old? Some of you people just like to complain about everything.
one more thing! Dyson is also playoff tested! he has alot of experience when it really matters and our young guys can learn from him!
