I'm taking Allen if he's there. If not, I'd try to move down a few spots. I'd love to sign Clowney/Lawrence and pair him with Allen. In addition to signing any offensive linemen that are available and good. Maybe see if you can move Williams for a second rounder and address the offense in the second and third.
i dont see how haskins doesnt go nº1 ( not the cardinals ofc ) in this draft he did everything right or am i wrong?
I agree. Was my first time focusing on him but I came away underwhelmed. Not really the look of an elite LT prospect (although I think he will be good).
Hoping for Kentucky's Josh Allen.. Getting worried he won't get passed San Fran though. Need to look at Clelin Ferrell a little closer as well, in case Allen is gone.
Name of the game's "kill the QB" Conversely, the name of the game is also "protect the QB" This year's draft: kill the qb: 9/10 level talent protect the qb: 7.5/10 level talent There's no OT worth a top 8 let alone a top 3 pick in this year's draft. .
There are those professional online services -- some of you have access to them -- that the pros also use besides NFL fanatics. What are THEY saying about Williams and other OL talent this year ? The number of Top 5 and Top 10 OL misses in the last 10 years is frightening. I remember going back to the 1970's, an OL picked Top 10 would be AT WORST an average starter and usually a star. I am still PO'd that the Jets passed on Anthony Munoz (my friend's best friend worked for the Jets at the time and the medical staff KO'd the pick, not Walt Michaels or Jim Kensil).
The noise last year was Quenton Nelson was can't-miss and All-Pro, not Pro-Bowl. We were gonna take him at #6 before we moved up.
I am unsure if we double dip at OLB like that. One of Mac's best picks is Jordan Jenkins. He is a leader and a poster boy in what you want in a football player. Loves the game, intelligent, and a team player. He also just came off his career best year and had 7 sacks. We have not had an OLB with 7 sacks in almost 10 years. I do not know if we odd man out him like that. If it was a different GM, I could maybe see it.
I have nothing against Jenkins, he actually had a pretty solid year. Having said that, I'm not letting Jordan Jenkins deter me from grabbing an elite pass rusher in free agency. Nor am I letting him deter me from taking Allen/Bosa. If the Jets arent able to upgrade both OLB positions, I have no problem with Jenkins manning the other side.
It is going to be tricky because we definitely need OLB help. Unless the FO mind is made up on Allen or Ferrell and they 100% believe they will be available, then we might have to play it safe and make a splash in FO. Then we essentially double dip and we are no worse for the ware. I just wonder what our route will be. I would love to have Jenkins still involved because I was a big fan before we drafted him and he has become one of my favorite players on the team.
The Jets were taking QB, no matter what. The only way they end up with Nelson is if they signed Kirk Cousins.
If the Redskins FO gets really desperate (and Alex Smith doesn't fully recover) I could see them trying to trade up for a QB. Might be a possible trade down partner.
Trade down. Pick Greg Little OT Ole Miss then take pass rusher with our newly acquired 2nd round pick.
we say it EVERY year that the jets need a pass rush. and EVERY year they just cannot generate a pass rush regardless of scheme. Its time.
The Jets should fill the most glaring needs in free agency. Sam needs a big time wide receiver. Enunwa is good and comes pretty cheap. Anderson is pretty good and can be controlled for another year. Both are unreliable for a full 16 game season. Seems like we have a good TE that will be suspended at the beginning. RB will also need to be addressed. Macc has a lot of work to do.
All depends on FA. The Jets should get one or two of: Frank Clark, Ziggy Ansah, Demarcus Lawrence, Ndamukong Suh, Cameron Wake, Brian Orakpo, Clay Matthews, Bruce Irvin, Dante Fowler, Michael Johnson, William Hayes, Shane Ray. If that works out, then the Jets should definitely take an OL (Williams/Little), preferably after a trade down.
