It's a little disturbing they haven't made more noise for an oc. Nobody still coaching is going to work for them. That means they're getting crap. Seriously, keeping Bowles for another year, and firing the oc seems like a typical shitty move by this organization. I'm utterly in awe of their ability of sustained dumbassery. l'm pulling for Nagy too but haven't heard that they even contacted the Chiefs about him. I don't want Chip Kelly anywhere near this team!
Chip Kelly met with Bill Belichick recently after losing out for the Jaguars offensive coordinator position to Nathaniel Hackett. The Jets should at the very least do their due diligence and bring him in for a meeting.
If you were TB, would you want Chip Kelly gassing your defense while looking over your shoulder and undermining your position as HC? I don't think so...
still 5 vacancies on the staff including a job most position coaches traditionally would desire - offensive coordinator. Does anyone want to help coach this team?
(Likely Conversation In Search For Offensive Coordinator) Bowes: So would you be interested in taking the job? Candidate: Well I talk to my agent at lunch today. Let me get back to you. Wait... (Mimes throat being slit....) Candidate: Actually, now that I remember, Todd. The organization told me earlier this year that I would be denied permission to talk to other organizations. My bad. Bowles: Wow. That''s happened with everybody I've talked to! Amazing!
Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer The Jets are showing interest in former Texans offensive coordinator George Godsey, according to a league source. They could interview him for their vacant OC position as soon as tomorrow at the Senior Bowl. Godsey and the Texans mutually parted ways after the playoff loss to the Patriots. The Texans finished 29th in total offense, as $72 million QB Brock Osweiler struggled. The Jets also have interest in Saints WRs coach John Morton, per source.
So an OC from a team with a $72 million waste of a QB. Encouraging.... Sounds like Mac has stepped in and is bringing another Texan over.
They are interviewing the Texans guy because he runs BOB offense and that's what Hackenberg ran when he was successful at Penn St. idk if it will work or anything about this particular guy but that line of reasoning makes some sense
