Todd McShay put together his first mock draft for 2013 two weeks ago.

There are no skill position players projected to go early in the draft. Its all defensive and offensive lineman and other defensive players.

McShay doesn't have an offensive skill player going until @23 Geno Smith.

Mel Kiper has Cordarrelle Patterson WR Tennessee at #11 on his big board but he is a junior. The rest of the players are all linemen and defensive players.

That trade is completely fucking ugly for us. We lose out on the value chart and are not in the position where moving early picks is a good idea. I like Te'o, but not at that kind of expense.

I am in favor of more picks not less. We have a lot of holes and little cap room so I wouldn't do any trade up unless for the kind of QB that isn't there.

You never mention trading our first in 2013. All you said was trading a 3rd, 5th, and a 2014 2nd. Where as you should have said a 1st, 3rd, 5th in 2013 and a 2014 2nd. I understand now, but was confused. No big deal!

This would be horrible... If Tanny isn't fired before this draft, he sure as hell will be after this.

There is absolutely no one we should trade up for in this draft. Not even Geno Smith or whoever they think is a quality QB. Give me a trade down any day...

Without question, I would rather trade down to the 20s and pick up an extra 2nd and 3rd than almost any other scenario.

I would love an OL honestly; Warmack would be great.

Aside from that, I'd be fine with an OLB assuming we don't trade up for one.

I think Geno Smith would be good value at pick 12 or 13 to be honest. He could turn out to be a franchise qb; at the very least, he's good enough to make us contenders with our current defense IMO.

I honestly dont know what I would do if we traded up.
Like a previous poster said, we have holes in the roster out the ass and we have the nerve to trade up?
If we do, - it'll have Rex Ryan's fingerprints all over it and you could couple him with Josh McDaniels in terms of talent evaluation skill.

I am a Huge ND Fan and think Te'o should have won the Heisman and would love to see him on the Jets but they need to go offense with that first round pick !!!!

Wow, looking at the first 20 picks. This draft is STARVED for offensive skill position players. The first guy off the board is Keenan Allen way down the line....

This is ridiculous. Haven't we learned yet that trading away our draft picks to move up almost every year isn't a good plan?

I am all about Te'o too. My second choice is Werner (see a little Jared Allen in him).

As for people saying offense, while that is nice and all, small problem - there are no great skill players in this draft. No AJ Green, Julio Jones or even Justin Blackman or Trent Richardson.

Solidify the defense in the 1st, and use the rest of the draft on offense.

Not a chance they do this. The Jets have so many needs on offense and a few on D. This is the year that we finally start to trade down and stockpile picks if anything. We definitely aren't trading up for a LB who will be a good player but doesn't address our biggest need areas right now which are on the offensive side of the ball.
