Season 2 wasn't as bad watched straight through, but it is true that it got really stale during the first half of the season, and even towards the end. It didn't really pick itself up until the last 2-3 episodes and they were so excellent that it made the rest of season 2 forgivable. The thing that really urked me was the human drama / social issues in season 2. Some of those scenes were so forced and so unrealistic, like when they are arguing about morning after pills and essentially sitting by the side of the road for 5 episodes, the suicide theme, people fighting with each other instead of helping one another. It's funny, we have a show here about zombies and who are biggest antagonists? Humans. It's like how Stargate universe made all the major conflicts with humans and emotional drama, getting the show canceled. If people wanted to see nothing but humans bickering and fighting each other, they can watch any soap opera. I want zombies in my zombie shows and aliens in my sci fi shows. That's why season 2 was pretty lame. There weren't any zombie fighting scenes besides at the very beginning and the end. IMO Season 3 is much greater than season 2, it doesn't even come close, and we've only seen just over half. I'm very happy they turned it around from season 2. If the show continued like that I wouldn't be able to watch it.
Deleted scene from season 2 I found on another forum, if anyone is interested
Agree....this was quite a good episode considering there wasn't much action. Liked the character interactions.
It wasn't the ink. He had scars from being whipped by his abusive father. Merle has them too, and didn't know that Daryl had them.
I was rooting so hard for the Governor to wake up and kill Andrea, but I guess they don't want to make the villain a fan favorite.
That was a great episode! I would compare it to "Nebraska" (the episode with the guys in the bar)....which is one of my favorites.
