We had Holmes and I guess Keller. Kerely was still a rookie, Burress is slow as shit and was irrelevant between the 20s. He was literally so intimidating of a deep threat that defenses would ALWAYS double up Holmes because they knew Burress was not a big play option. And once Holmes is doubled up, he's not going to muscle a catch from two receivers like Fitz, Johnson, Johnson, or Marshall, becaue he's too small. Keller is a mystery to me. AT times he appears to be a serious mismatch while other times he vanishes for entire games. Plus the whole WFH thing. Sanchez didn't have nearly as much to work with as you think. Can he play better? YES! Was it fair to say he was loaded with weapons last season? Hell no.
How many of those picks off receiver hands were poorly thrown? Some were behind the receiver, some into tight coverage. What was Sanchez excuse last year, and the year before that? We are not going anywhere with this core group of players. So why not shake it up? Why not take a look at what you have, even only for a single game. What can it hurt at this point? Besides Sanchez feelings.
I'm in.... Anybody but Sanchez. I've lost all faith in the guy. And while we are at it . Let Powell and hilliard start. Greene and Conner suck
Sanchez would have to break his arm and Tebow would have to get a concussion in relief of him for McElroy to ever see the field. Green is not a starter; that much is evident , but Mcknight is a running fumble waiting to Happen and Powell is an unknown commodity.
Sure, give him a shot, but not before giving Tim a shot first. You can't just go from 1st to 3rd and skip 2nd. For all wanting Greg to get a shot, Tim must get a shot by default. Doesn't matter if he fails or not.
JetsNation06: Really? A guy has to have started a regular season game for the Jets this season before we can decide if he sucks? That makes it easy, Mark Sanchez is the only human who sucks as the Jets starting QB. Maybe we should go sign Jeff George, since he has the same un-suckability as Tebow and McElroy. Or maybe you want the job? We're not allowed to think you suck at it yet, because your name isn't Sanchez. P.S.: Not saying Sanchez isn't sucking. He is. Almost as much as your logic.
Monstah, which game as the QB of the NY Jets has Tebow started? I want to hear this one. He has to start a game for our team before we can decide if he sucks. How the fuck else would you know if he's the guy for this team if he's never STARTED A GAME FOR US? Sure you can think Tebow sucks, knock yourself out. But again, how can you say he sucks as the Jets QB as he has not been given a chance yet? Do tell. Your logic is flawed at best. There is no other fair way to evaluate a QB for YOUR team unless he has STARTED at QB for YOUR team. If there is, please enlighten me. Next you're going to tell me Tebow sucks because he won a playoff game in Denver. Ugh. That has nothing to do with this team and this organization. You cannot base Tebow's ability off what he did with another team as that has no bearing on what he may or may not do with the Jets. The point is Sanchez sucks. When your QB sucks, you make a change. The backup happens to be Tebow. You see if he can do the job. End of story.
You're saying we have to audition every single human being on the planet by allowing them to start a regular season game, before we can say they shouldn't be the Jets starting QB? I'm willing to go ahead and tell you that Dick Cheney, Kris Jenkins, Stephen Hawking, Tim Tebow, and Shonne Green are going to fail as starting QB--I don't need to see them try to know it.
Once again: Not saying Sanchez isn't sucking--he is, Much. But the best way to usher him out is to let him falter us into another top draft pick......which we can then blow on another bust QB.
Your argument is so weak. You obviously don't know how to comprehend or didn't read what I said. Tim Tebow is our backup QB, FACT. That's a big difference from your take which is "audition every single human being on the planet". No pro team in any sport would follow this philosophy of yours. The starting Qb sucks which you just admitted. So when the starting QB sucks you go to the backup QB who is Tebow. Get it? No idea why you went off on a tangent about "every single human being on the planet" Earth LOL. Stick to Sci-Fi.
Actually that is not the best way. You don't just stick with a QB because he sucks and we could get a top draft pick if he keeps sucking, which is basically what you're saying. You actually give the other QB's on the team a shot to see if they can give us a better chance to win.
Zero running game and QB with weaker arm than Pennington? Yes, I support this if we then pick Geno Smith with our number 1 pick.
I'm not saying they were great weapons last year... But everyone is saying he has struggled this year because his "weapons" have been out, my point is he struggles with them in as well. I'm not saying Sanchez sucks, I'm saying he's not getting the job done. We don't have 4 ither receivers to put in, we do have 2 other QB's to try who may or may not be worse. If Mark struggles again, we have other options.
I think the thing is, we know if we can get him good weapons, we can make the playoffs and win games. We decided to take away those weapons for whatever reason, and that's frustrating. You don't compensate for expecting a player ot get better (Sanchez) by removing weapons around him. That be like the Ravens saying, well Flacco took the next step, see you later Boldin and Ray Rice we aren't resigning you to big money.
I'm just saying that based on this logic, Stephen Hawking, who has never started a game as Jets QB has equal footing to Tebow or whoever else you want to throw out there. You can't prove he's not better than Sanchez. In fact, the only person who has started for the Jets this year is Sanchez, so, by your logic, the only person in the universe who could possibly suck at it is Sanchez. I like that you accuse me of not comprehending what you're typing, when clearly, you're the one who can't comprehend what you're typing.
