Am I the only one not too concerned at this rather passive inactivity?

We have some offense, Id say our offensive line is more then good,DBrick,Mangold,Willie C,Howard,Ducase. Goodson,Powell,Mcknight decent rotation for now, Wr Holmes,Kerley,Hill but still needs another option or two. And if we sign Fred Davis him and Cumberland would fit the bill for now. Marty M could be a good match for Sanchez if he wins the job. So if he fixes the offense like were hoping then it doesnt look that bad as of today. Here is the starting lineup as of ight now.And its not about the Ravens winning a Superbowl there cap situation is worse then ours

If you look at this roster so far its not looking half bad and we havent drafted of traded Revis yet, sure theres still holes to fill, plenty of them but by the end of summer we should be looking pretty decent. The word "Rebuilding" sounds like a 4 year process i think the roster could look pretty good when its all said and done in a few months

    Starters for now
    QB:Sanchez/Garrad
    FB:Hillard
    TE:Cumberland/Possibly Fred Davis
HB:powell/Goodson/Mcknight-not the best rotation but def stands a chance
WR:Holmes,Kerley,Hill still holes to fill here
    OLine-Mangold,DBrick,Howard,Colon,Ducasee-Capable o line
    LE:Wilkerson
    RE:Coples
DT:Antonio Garay,Ellis. Still need some help here
    MLB:Harris,Davis
    ROLB:Barnes
    LOLB:???? Draft pick
    CB:Cro,Wilson,Trufant, Revis for now
SS:???? Hole to fill in draft
    FS:????Draft possibly

Maybe I need to put on my green goggles before I look at that lineup and think it's good. That offensive roster is absolutely pathetic in my eyes. Morningwood is going to need to be a miracle worker if our offense is going to be anywhere near good.

    Look.

How about BOTH sides suck equally? That's what it is in reality. And Jets defense is missing 3 immediate starters (2x safeties + 1x OLB). Maybe one, if you want to include Josh Bush and Antonio Allen as safety prospects (that they should be anyway). Offense lacks 1 immediate starter (OG) as well.

In terms of performance, both sides would have been equal - had it not been for Ryan.

If the coveted OLB prospect is there at #9, Jets take him. If not, they should move on.

The only reason I am more inclined to picking defensive player this year is because that gives the most bang for the buck IMO. I am simply saying, Ryan is better at defense than Mornhinweg is at offense. Moreover, the next two or three drafts will heavily feature offensive players so I would think it's reasonable to patch up the defense in the best way Jets can right now - so they don't have to address holes on defense when they should be concentrating on fixing the offense.

one thing about the offense is solid the O-line, so that should make fixing the offense alot easier for the GM and MartyM,if we sign Fred Davis, and a WR or 2 and draft a rb it will look alot better

The offensive line is not solid. D'Brick and Mangold are solid. Austin Howard is a young guy with some upside but not proven yet. The guards are verging on a disaster area at this point. I suspect the Jets take a guard in the mid-rounds and then either hold their breath with Ducasse at RG or re-sign Slauson to play LG.

VD remains a horror show imo, despite the homers here who think he's acceptable. And I doubt Slauson comes back. If he was going to come back, they would have signed him already. Of course maybe no one else signs him, either - tells ya something about him.

The Jets may be well served by going high draft pick at OG. Mangold and Ferguson are still quality players, but they are not getting any younger. And yes, at best Howard has some upside, but he's not a proven talent. Just because he's better than the awful Wayne Hunter does not mean he's good.

As much as they need attention replacing Muck and at some of the skill positions, with big question marks on Holmes's return from injury and whether Hill can overcome the dropsies, they need to invest in the OL this year, and no, Colon was not enough.

(Ftr I think they think they are set at RB for now...)

The offense is full of backups in starting roles. Might be the worst offense in the NFL.

Sanchez a backup. Holmes a good #2 but who knows coming off his injury. Kerley is a decent #3 when healthy. Cumberland isn't a starter in this league. Goodson and Powell would both be good #2 backs.

How could you look at this offense with promise? It will be better than last year but is that saying much?
