Evidently Kerley is a holdover from the prior regime that this new leadership doesn't want around. There is something about Kerley that Gailey does not like. Being put on what used to be called the "suicide squad" isn't a promotion so they're just making sure Kerley is working for his game check. Nothing more or less to it. They should just trade the guy and eat some of the contract Idzik gave him. Get a mid round DP and move on.
DEEP down that stomach. Nice one. Im just saying id like to have a deep play that wasnt just a decoy to set up the dink and dunk.
Kerley has made big plays in the past .....I feel like he deserves to be out there over Owusu and Enunwa ....atleast right now anyway.Atleast rotate them Kerley is a solid option in the slot. But if you look at his numbers they have been on the decline since 2012 bad qb play or not http://www.nfl.com/player/jeremykerley/2495189/careerstats
I'd keep him for the rest of the year and evaluate making moves in the off-season. Never know with injuries.
Unless Fitz ....while dropping back to pass, hands the ball to a defender and then begins masturbating on the field while the other team scores....it ain't happening In fact he would need to do both on the same play for Geno to replace him. If he masterbates while completing a pass...geno still will not replace him Hope I didn't confuse anyone there. Edit: after some thought and contemplating Genos past two seasons, Fitz could even masterbate and throw an incompletion.....and he will still be safe.
Cman you are dead on...but one thing I will add is that THIS coaching staff and Qb are smart enough to.dump one long to at least try to keep the defense honest. And it has worked. The running game opened up AFTER we opened it up a bit. They are a work in progress. Its progressing perfectly considering everything from Qb to number 1 receiver and coaching staff is new. It will grow. Nice post cman.
Very true. The guy went to Harvard, if we don't trust that he's smart enough to audible, there's something seriously, seriously wrong. There's plenty of guys that scored in the single digits on the Wonderlic that are capable of calling audibles. Part of good coaching is not over-coaching (and trusting your players to make good decisions).
For about two weeks back in the late 80's when she had lost a fuck ton of weight Oprah was smoking hot. There I said it.
I keep seeing these comments about how different the game would have been if this or that did or didn't happen. I think it's very short sighted. Pretty clearly our offense went into ultra conservative mode when we were up a couple of scores and the defense was dominating. That was probably a really smart idea. As much as it would have been fun to try and keep the pedal to the medal on offense and try to pull away there's another side to that coin where an offensive turnover could have given the colts a better opportunity to win. When the colts finally managed a td drive against our dominant defense late in the game we went back into we need to score mode and did so rather quickly and efficiently. You don't get to plug in changes to a football game and pretend everything else would have remained the same. That ignores the obvious strategies that were being followed. Seems like we have some pretty smart coaching to me.
That's exactly what they'll do, it's what any D-coordinator should do....... until Fitz can show he can actually make those accurate deep throws.
