Against teams like the Bills or other top defenses this offense makes me very nervous....I'm really hoping Devin Smith can make a huge impact right away and better open up the passing game
Yep... The key to that is Smith becoming a viable deep threat. That's gonna take a few big throws from Fitz to establish. I can see teams going 11 inside 5 yds from the LOS taking away the short slants.
Let's look it like this. The Colts played zone most the night and we couldn't run Wed get a big pick up and then we'd falter. So my point is and always was this is where I think we are extremely limited. His arm is gonna be an issue. I don't know that he has the arm strength to take advantage of a speed reciever like smith. Interesting thing about Fitz is that he knows that teams are aware that his passing game strength is within 10-20 yards. Which is why he kept firing away deep to keep defenses on their toes...Now I think about it, it was a a smart play to go down the field at times

Yep Yep.. Now all Fitz has to do is start hitting those throws semi-regularly to make the deep throw viable in the minds of DC's. That's where Devin Smith comes in. Sooner or later, he's gonna have to bring his particular set of skills to the table. That's why we drafted him wasn't it?
