he made his career out of playing through pain, he doesn't get that excuse. if it was that bad he should have told them he couldn't go like he did in Minny 2 years later. he was making poor decisions more than being out of it physically.

Playing through pain=playing hurt, playing with an injury is totally different. No one is making excuses it is pretty much common knowledge that Farve had an injury which affected his play.

"Hey, remember that time Emmitt Smith had a broken leg ... and he wasn't performing as well? It was totally his fault that he wasn't performing that well because he's an ironman and leg injuries aren't really relevant to NFL RB performance," said exactly nobody ever.

Yup had he not been injured it's pretty clear we're coming out of the AFC for a Super Bowl appearance. Very next year after his injury heals up he goes off and has one of his best years.

    Everyone knew it back then.

I'm still trying to figure out why this self-proclaimed Jet fan would start a thread titled "Tom Brady: Greatest QB of all Time"...on a Jets forum.

I mean...wtf? It's not like somebody asked him who's the best. He just started it of his own volition.

    That's just weird.

Especially considering he's not the GOAT.

I don't know what his motivation is.

I got banned for doing less douchey crap around here.

    It's just weird.

did he play? he gets evaluated on how he played which was awful- the same as it was most of the season b/c he never wanted to be here.

Nope but I remember Emmitt playing w/ a separated shoulder and leading Dallas to the 1993 AFC East title which got them homefield throughout en route to another SB.

when folks post misinformation I will be there to correct them. has nothing to do w/ hating Ken O'Brien.

You force me to post reality.

are we not adults? should I lie and say "Joe Namath Greatest of al time! Ken O;'Brien #2!" would that make you feel better?

Peyton definitely plays a role for those misinformed folks who think Peyton is even close to Brady but I was more impressed w/ Brady leading his team back from down 10 in the 4th qtr of a SB against a great defense- the same D that held Peyton and his MUCH more talented O to 8 garbage time pts a year earlier.

    sorry the truth hurts guys.

My motivation is discussing reality. we can have a dream board here where the Jets are winning the SB every year, Joe Namath stays healthy, Chad Pennington stays healthy, Freeman is healthy, we don't lose Riggins, Sauer doesn't retire early but I prefer dealing in reality.

I still don't understand the need to start a thread like that.

At least title it "Who's the best QB ever"...then you can slob his knob within the body of the thread.

It just looks bad. Your on a NY Jets forum for goodness sake...

It's MY opinion, you don't have top agree. No one has to agree, I thought he was gaining on Montana but that SB pushed him over the top for me. I have no issue w/ anyone thinking Montana is the best, a case can be made for either guy but in my opinion Brady is the best.

do I like pumping up a Patriot? of course not, do I like bringing down a Jet? of course not but I like to be honest and sometimes the truth does hurt. There's a reason NE has won 4 SBs since 2001 and we haven't won one since the 1968 season.

I think you're missing my point Junc.

It's not about who's the best QB...it's about titling the thread as you did.

When you get invited to a dinner party in someone's home, you don't start a conversation about how the food was better at another party you went to.

    It's just rude.

no ruder than wearing a Rams jersey in a Jets house, right?

we discuss all topics on here, some may not go in our favor. I "hate" Brady on the field but as a football fan I love watching him play. I have an appreciation for greatness even if I don't like what team they are playing for or don't like that player. 2 of my all time favorite QBs to watch both happened to come from main Jets rivals- Brady and Marino.

be thankful I didn't enter the SB III memories thread even though I was being baited in.

i appreciate that it doesnt matter to you what team the guys are playing on. i couldnt care less if tom brady is the guy you think is the greatest of all time.

it is interesting the way you portray your reasoning though. it always has been, i am sure it always will be.

I have long felt that posting here is not a popularity contest, and so one should not avoid stating an opinion merely because it is not the conventional wisdom held by posters here. But is there a way that someone might actually enjoy being unpopular, for the sake of being such? Most people would say no, in fact could not even contemplate having that sort of personality. But clearly there are such people on the world. Add in a holier than thou attitude, an attitude that such a person knows something nobody else does, as well as a disrespect for the views and the rights of others to have differing views, and I think you can begin to understand the motivation of such a personality type.

Would you wear a Brady jersey to Sanchez' funeral?

That was an abortion of a thread and a classic deuchebag junc move. Wait until the day after our biggest rival wins a SB, something we are all pissed off to see, to start a thread calling him the greatest QB ever.

nobody here started a thread "Coach Krzyzewski: Great Coach of All-time" the morning after Duke won the national championship... that would be an asshole move on a UNC message board would it not?

    Attention whore?

Again...it's not the opinion he has about Brady, it's the fact that he titled the thread as such.

Besides...it's not like he went out on a limb by proclaiming Brady as the best qb ever.
