Pretty sure that was just him farting. though I can understand the confusion since regardless of which end it's just smelly hot air.
I'm fascinated by the level of delusion it must take to simultaneously (1) have an entire message board populace making fun of you on an hourly basis for months, and (2) think you're actually winning any ... let alone "all" ... arguments.
your arguments were destroyed. I posted NY Times, you post fan blog and bleacher report- an "article" that said Ken led the league in passing many times. Just please stop. why are there no reports of it from after the season? the report was he hurt his finger(could have been broken) in 2nd to last game- he was putrid the 3 games before that so what was the excuse? and the bottom line is did he play? did he perform? we know the answers, the excuses don't help. you remember the finger being wrapped? below is a picture from the Browns game- where is the wrap? this was at SF in Dec, this is a little harder to see than the Cle pic but I don't see a wrap this is the Steeler game when he hurt his finger(according to the NY Times article). nothing wrapped I look forward to the next set of excuses. I appreciate your effort, at least you try unlike the other guy but when "battling" me you have to have your info rock solid or I will tear it apart.
look at the bone sticking out of his finger in that last one.... he looks like a regular old steve deberg
Like him or not, one thing you can say about O'Brien is he never planted his face in Dan Alexander's ass.
Jesus Christ, what an ignorant statement. The level of stupidity is astounding. Please watch some more football and try to educate yourself.
Nothing bandaged in the Steelers game, but look at his finger holding the ball. It's swollen and it's bloody.... 2nd photo in your group doesn't show his throwing hand, nice try. Photo from theBorowns game, wrap was off by that point in time but the finger was still an issue, and I'll remind you he came in late and led the team to a 10 point lead with 4 minutes left. Nice try again, record speaks for itself, only you disagree the finger was broken, as was exposed after the season ended.
Sad, sad stats for an organization, the best actual stats were from Quincy Carter who won 2 of his 3 starts with 3 TDs and only 1 Int and 60.3% completion rate. Yet he sucked so bad we moved on after one season. The best QB over a carrer the Jets ever had was Chad Pennington who went 32-29 with 65.6% completion and 82 TDs with only 55 Ints. Sad to say, but I would love to have someone like the bionic noddle arm again.
I never understood why Pennington got the hate he got. I hope those people that used to call sports talk radio screaming to get rid of him aren't complaining with what we've had at qb since then.
hahahaha, can't deal w/ facts. I like Ken but give me a buttfumbl;e w/ 2 chances to reach SB over no buttfumble and no playoff wins. at least as a throwback. There were plans to use them as throwbacks until the helmet issue w/ concussions a few years back. Watched him his entire career, watched him, rarely step up in a big spot. You may want to educate yourself rather than being overly impressed w/ fantasy #s. That's the game they said he got hurt in, he was putrid the 3 games before as well. but you clearly remember his hand being bandaged and I showed you photos from 3 different games including the playoff game- no bandage of any kind. Oh so the wrap was off, so he only wore the wrap for the season finale at Cincy? you crack me up. it's the era we live in, pretty much al Jet QBs got that hate but over time people forget.
I don't recall any hate if you mean on a personal level, like people here who hated Holmes. But there were a number of signficant problems with Chad. The most significant is that he could not stay on the field enough. It wasn't just having one major injury, either. He was fragile. He got hurt a number of times, different injuries. You couldn't count on him. Then the injuries compounded problems in his game. He seemed to not have confidence in his downfield pass requiring speed and accuracy. At some point he gave up on the 20 yard out pass, allowing defenses to play more in the middle and closer to the line. I also thought he was not a come from behind leader. With Pennington, if the Jets were down by more than one score with 20 minutes or less left, the game was over. He also got a lot of money, and was arguably overpaid. The crap we've seen at Qb since Favre left doesn't lessen the foregoing as real problems. Was Chad better than Sanchez or Smith? Imo, clearly yes. But he was not above having real concerns about him.
MUCH weaker AFC back then too and we had much more talent around the QB. Remember, Ken's backup won a playoff game while w/ similar team Brett Favre couldn't even get us to the playoffs.
Of course, Favre had a torn tendon in his throwing arm ... not like that's important to being an NFL QB or anything. LMAO. How was the team doing before he got hurt? Oh, that's right ... we were the best team in the league and Super Bowl favorites at the 3/4s mark of the season.
sorry, the iron man doesn't get injury excuses. he was the same guy post injury as he was pre injury- throwing balls up for grabs. Mark was hurt in 2010 and helped us reach the championship game, Chad had a torn rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder and we were a missed kick from the title game. Injuries are part of the game.
I figured the "to his credit OB didn't run into Dan Alexander's ass" was a silly enough statement that it wouldn't prompt any need to defend whatever imagined slight that was directed towards the sacred golden calf, Mark, the man of Troy.
There's one thing to have concerns but that wasn't what I remember hearing. It was genuine hate/dislike for the guy as if he was a scrub. I never understood that. There's a difference between playing hurt and playing injured. Most players play hurt by the middle to the end of every season especially in a physical sport like football. Favre played injured as in he had no business being out there. Since he played he deserved to get some slack. But being an iron man doesn't mean that the injury didn't affect his play and essentially cost us that season.
