And I was a HUGE Sanchez fan but even I can admit it--the vitriol spewed at Sanchez was MUCH worse than what Kenny got. It's amazing that "fans" would dump on an all time great Jet because they hated them as a child. _
↑ Are you really sitting there To tout Dilfer's playoff performance when over 4 games the Ravens in the 2000 playoffs allowed a total of 16 points, 170 yards against per game, created 12 turnovers, and a TD is really pushing the limits of logic. I agree that virtually any QB could have gone along for the ride during that amazing Ravens defense run during the 2000 playoffs. Dilfer gets very little credit in my mind. A QB would have had a monumentally bad game for the Ravens to have lost any of those games.
You know when this junc has admitted defeat when he can no longer support his ridiculous positions and resorts instead to personal insults and deflecting and calling more knowledgeable fans children or comical or clueless or posting funny memes. Short jokes rolled off my back starting in 2nd grade and ever since I'm quite proud of what I've accomplished with my stature and I have a superiority complex when discussing issues with you because of my superior intellect to yours. Your insults are extremely weak, just like your naive and indefensible positions. Can't wait until those banners come down. Kenny is an all time great Jet--just because you hated him as a child doesn't mean you have to hate him today. _
I supported every argument, you have not. you have never engaged in the discussion but rather here to just hurl insults at me. when that happens I give it right back. that's it right there "I'm quite proud of what I've accomplished..." you always have to tell us how great you are, you have an inferiority complex despite the success you have had. who cares what you have done? we don't know each other, brag about that stuff to people who care. you need to tell everyone at every turn how great you are b/c you have insecurity issues. The short stuff definitely gets to you b/c of that insecurity, no matter how much success you have you hate that you are the size of half a man and you lash out. I don't care if you are 5 foot or 7 foot, I needle you b/c you treat people like garbage on here to compensate for your insecurity.
Extremely proud of what I've accomplished at my stature and I am the least insecure person you will never meet. Everything you have said here has been refuted and everything I have countered with is 100% supportable. My counters did not include personal insults-- what you take as an insult is me just pointing out the truth about O'Brien and your inability to accept it--I just laid out the facts about where Kenny lies in the pantheon of awesome Jet QBs and how he stacks up against with the same exact QBs on other franchises that have never won playoff games. Just because you can't understand that isn't on me. _
You see, I actually LIKED O'Brien as a young Jet fan and he will always be one of the best we had. He's all time number 1 in completions, number 2 all time in attemps, TDs, yardage and number 3 all time in completion %, INT% and QB rating. Those numbers can not be refuted. Just like Hadl and Bert Jones and Gabriel and Hart and Sipe and Tittle. If you want to argue that those guys are not all time players for their respective franchises, that's a different discussion. _
be proud, whatever you have accomplished I am sure is worthy of pride but you don't need to always be telling us about it and putting others down b/c you feel you are superior. I know your type, I deal with that type every day and it cracks me up. you have not refuted a damn thing, your arguments have been incredible weak and deflected from the original points we were discussing. yes they did, you always throw little insults in- always. Especially when you have nothing to counter. what John Hadl did has nothing to do w/ Ken O'Brien.
awesome so he compiled some #s b/c he had some longevity. he also only had ONE big year, was benched 5 different times for some of the worst QBs in the league, never won a playoff game. John Hadl, Bert Jones, Roman Gabriel, Brian Sipe and YA Tittle have nothing to do w/ that. it's ok to appreciate Ken, it's another thing to overrate him like that.
You're the one who keeps deflecting with short jokes and inferiority complexes and incredibly weak psychobabble BS, I only mention my accomplishments when you have surrendered and feel the need to insult me to deflect attention away from your ridiculous and unsupportable opinions. I deal with shitheads all day and THAT cracks me up just like your deflections. And everything I have said is 100% supported by what actually occurred on the field, my opinions and recollections as a true fan of the Jets and O'Brien, the ACTUAL numbers, the history of the Jets and the history of the league. And if you can't figure out what John Hadl or Bert Jones or Roman Gabriel or Jim Hart or Brian Sipe has to do with a discussion of an all time great for a franchise, well color me not surprised. You've never been the deepest thinker on the board, complex issues escape you. _
John Hadl, Bert Jones, Jim Hart, Brian Sipe, Roman Gabriel and YA Tittle played as long or longer than Kenny and every one of those guys lost every single playoff game they ever played. I'm not sure you'll be able to understand that context, but try. _
awesome but they have nothing to do w/ Ken and a few of those guys led their teams to championship games. it is a great job of trying to deflect though, if you were arguing w/ a less informed poster I am sure it could work.
It has everything to do with those guys when discussing all time franchise greats. No one overrates Kenny vis a vis great NFL QBs--we're talking about how he rates vis-a-vis other Jet QBs and on that account, he's an alltime great Jet. But be as intentionally obtuse as you like, doesn't bother me. I know who Kenny was to my franchise. _
I Love Ken O'Brien!! That 5 TD game with Wesley Walker, which I had the great fortune to watch and which is on youtube, against the Dolphins is one of my favorite Jets memories. I got to watch that game with my sick mother, who has since passed away, a true Jets fan, so we were able to share that moment together.
Wait, she was a true Jet fan and you are a true Jet fan and you loved Kenny O'Brien? That's a great memory--I hope nobody feels the need to dump on a great all time Jet to tarnish your memory of a great moment you had with your Mom. _
all you have done this entire thread is deflect. you always mention your personal stuff b/c you want to pump yourself up b/c of your inferiority issues. No matter how much success you have it wil always come back to that. Maybe that is what makes you a success? being driven by a slight but it's not a good look. John Hadl took his team to multiple championship games, made 6 PBs and was an all pro as well as leading in pass yards 3 times and completions twice. Ken never took his team to a div rd, led one season in one category, made 2 PBs(one as 7th alternate where he had 10 TDs and 11 INTs leading us to 8-8), never made an AP team. John also had a winning record which Ken did not. Very similar. Gabriel made 4 PBs and 1 AP, led in pass TDs twice, in completions once, yards once. was 74-39-6 as a starter in LA, a slight difference from 50-59-1, right? Jim Hart made 4 PBs and played for an awful fracnhise yet was only 1 game under .500 as a starter. the Cardinals from 1949-1997 made the playoffs just 3 times, all 3 led by Hart and he is all time passing leader in franchise history. very similar to Ken, right? Tittle only played 4 years for NYG and led them to 3 championship games. in those 4 years made 3 PBs and 2 time AP. made 5 other PBs and another AP. was 32-13-3 as NYG QB and franchise wouldn't make playoffs again until 1981- oh and he's in the Hall of Fame. very similar to Ken, right? Bert Jones and Brian Sipe are the only ones that are somewhat similar and I have no idea how they are perceived in Bal & Cle and it doesn't matter, all that matters to me is Ken was not an all time great Jet, he was a decent player for us that I appreciate, one you are trying to make sound much better than he actually was.
you can feel any way you want about Ken or any other player, it doesn't make you right. if Ken was an al time great Jet then so was Adrian Murrell, Richard Todd, Pat Ryan, Johnny Hector, Anthony Becht, Ray Mickens, Jeff Lageman, Kyle Clifton, ...
I don't know if I'm a TRUE Jets fan: I just had the Joe Namath electronic football set (you know, the vibrating board with the little football figures. And Joe Namath was HUGE and had a retractable arm, which would throw a magnetic football to....nobody). And, sure, I suffered through the Richard Todd years and the 1990s abysmal years. I suffered through the 1999 season, which kinda ended in the first quarter of the first game. I hated Vinny Testaverde for throwing a million INTs against the Ravens in 2000. But I'm probably not a TRUE Jets fan because I really don't have animosity for any Jets player. While I have no understanding of why someone would spend numerous posts trying to run down Ken O'Brien to his fans, that kind of hate I would never let ruin good Jets memories for me.
