Yeah Maynard has to be there. Are we rating them be effectivenessin todays NFL or effectiveness relative to the league when they played?

You put together an excellent team but John Schmidt never played guard, he was a center (how about Dave Hermann?), and Verlon Biggs was good but how about Mark Gastineau, personality and one bad penalty aside.

Leahy should not be on ahead of Jim Turner. Turner was an All-Pro who led the league in scoring a couple of seasons. Leahy was an over-rated choke artist who was most responsible for the double OT loss in Cleveland missing two short FG attempts. (Got to stop blaming Gastineau for that one.)

Schmidt was a center and Herman was great but I thought Mawae has a slight edge at center over Schmidt but Schmidt was still one of the best OL men in Jet history so I moved him to guard. I can't argue Herman he certainly was right there with the best of them.

As far as Biggs, I thought he was a tremendous both against the run and the pass and he wasn't a steriod hog. With an undersized Elliot at DT who was as quick as they come and Philbin the best edge rusher in Jets history, I like Biggs better on the other side than Gastineau. Plus he's one of the guys that make up my user name.

Uhhh, no he didn't. The Jets gained a net total of six yards after their last TD made the score 19-10. This was in four possessions, one in regulation and three in OT. They never got close enough for Leahy to kick.

And actually, Mark Moseley missed a chip shot in OT. But it didn't help and he got another chance, which he didn't miss.

I think we can keep blaming Gastinueau, and throw in Joe Walton and Rich Kotite and Ken O'Brien.
